Initially Christian was only asking for a special IC found in an "old terminal": AMI 1315-P-2 People guessed, that this could be a prepogrammed intel 8042 processor containing an AMI (American Megatrends Inc) BIOS for an IBM 5170. We know that this is not the case and made some pictures from this integrated circuit, along with the processor also found in this terminal: a C8008. Then we looked for this terminal type and found that it is a probably one from the ITT 3280 - family, also known as "Courier Terminal Systems". In the meantime I opened one of the ICs and made some photos from the chip. It seems that there is a masked rom on the chip and some random logic. The rom seems to be organized as 96*32 bit. On the last picture one can see the bits. In the upper left corner of the chip one can see large structures, eventually output drivers. We don't believe that this is a single-chip processor. On the other side this is not only a simple rom. Eventually it is an keyboard interface and the rom contains the character codes for the keys. Also noticable: One of the boards which contains the 1315-P-2 also contains a Synertek 2650, not to be confused with a Signetics 2650, which is an old microprocessor. This board is from 1977. Other boards with the 1315 with the same designation "Cursor/Buffer" do not contain the 2650, they contain only TTL-chips. Btw: There is another unknown IC: The Nat Semi 1409. Some of these chips have also the label: MM 5335 17. Mai. 2006
