Diskette X1 - CGA-Hercules-Simulation
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PC-File+
ist die allerneueste, stark erweiterte Version. Hier einige Eigenschaften:

+--------+
| FASTER |
+--------+
* Far faster speed:
Sequential searches are typically 2 to 10 times faster
Sort is typically 2 to 5 times faster
Print is typically 2 times faster (to disk)
* Eliminated the multiple program files on disk. All of pc-file is now
in one program file. Easier to install, use, and share. Much
faster "chaining" from one module to another.
+--------+
| EASIER |
+--------+
* Context sensitive HELP windows. The help file is more compact,
   and contains more help messages.
* Much easier to learn and use. Command structure better organized.
modify, find, delete, display have all been combined into one
command. Commands only require a single keystroke.
* Macros (Smart Keys) much easier to set up. There is a macro memorize
    mode, which memorizes your keystrokes.
* Improved subdirectory support. You can put PC-File in any subdirectory
on the DOS "PATH". Then, you can run it from any subdirectory that
you happen to be in. You can also put the help file and the profile
file on the path with pc-file.
* New menus make PC-File even easier to learn and use.
* "Setup" is much easier to use.
* Help, error, message windows movable to allow viewing underneath.
* A new TEACH mode can be turned on/off. When on, it automatically
provides the help screen associated with the prompt being requested.
* The BIN command is no longer necessary. PC-File+ keeps track
of binary fields automatically (through the sort).
* New CLONE routine makes cloning a snap.
* New Labels printing program. Very flexible and easy to use. Draw
  (paint) your label format.
* You can press [Esc] as often as you like now.
* Fields are easier to select from the menus. Select by:
    1. number, or
    2. name, or
    3. short name, or
    4. cursor movement
* Characters in numeric fields are now allowed. The conversion of the
data to a number is much more intelligent. Garbage characters will
be bypassed (so $ and commas, etc are permitted). Imbedded dashes,
and slashes will become an implied decimal point.
+---------------+
| MORE POWERFUL |
+---------------+
* Twice as many records allowed (65533 records maximum).
* More fields per database (up to 70).
* Relational database retrievals are now a standard feature.
A relation is another type of calculation. This means you
can calculate using relational fields, and you can select records
for printing based on the results of relational lookups.
* Defining new databases is easier and more flexible:
Choose from a "Paint" the input screen mode, or
                a fill-in-the-blanks mode
Place your fields anywhere on the screen that you like. Put other
titles, prompts, boxes or lines on the screen with your field
       names and data.
Databases can be "patterned" after existing databases
You can control how the cursor moves from field to field
* Greatly enhanced report writer:
User selects from four methods of report creation:
    a. Page format. Computer designs the report completely.
    b. Row/column format. User specifies which fields to print. Computer
       then designs the report.
    c. "Paint" the report. User draws the report on the screen and
answers some questions. Computer finishes the report design.
    d. Report command language, which allows total flexibility with:
       1. cover page
       2. multiple heading lines
       2. multiple detail lines
       3. multiple footing lines
       4. multiple subtotal lines
       5. multiple total lines
       6. user designs format of all parts of report.
       7. output edit masks allow complete formatting of each report item.
User specifies placement of decimals and commas in numbers, etc.
       8. user controls where date,time,page#,subtotals,totals,
          and selection criteria are printed
       9. report can pause to request operator keyed data
      10. predefined "system" fields available for calculating, editing,
          or printing include:
          a. current date
          b. current time
          c. cumulative count of records selected
          d. cumulative count of records selected in the subtotal group
          e. field name of subtotal break field
          f. group id of current subtotal group.
          g. current page number
          h. number of records in database
          i. the record number of the current record
          j. the primary sort field
          k. the selection criteria for this report
      11. User can specify printer control codes to print out anywhere
in the report. This allows highlighting of fields or data, with
color if the printer supports it.
Reports can now go to LPT1:, LPT2:, COM1:, and COM2: as well as to
the screen or a disk file.
* Calculated fields greatly improved:
    imbedded blanks permitted
nested parentheses permitted (to any depth)
    ^ exponent
    % mod (remainder)
    negation operator (negative constants) allowed
they'll now recalculate for modify and global-modify
* Improved Find command. You can AND and OR your finds. "Complex"
searches can be initiated using the new command language.
* Comparison searches improved:
    nesting of AND/OR
    calculations permitted
    >=, <=, !=, etc. permitted
* GLObal update/delete:
    searches of any complexity
update any number of fields at once
update into portions of a field (using wildcard characters)
* Improved security: multilevel (5 levels) password control
    "use" password controls: /USEPW,---
restricts all use of database (even viewing)
    modify password controls: /MODPW,---
        add, modify, delete, global operations
    system password controls: /SYSPW,---
utilities, smart key definition, field naming, BIN cmd (display),
cloning, database defining, pc-fix, setup, and importing
    sort passwords controls: /SORTPW,---
        sorting, changing indexes
A special "Hide" password can be set for most of the above. It stops
users from even seeing options that they're not allowed to use.
A special override password can be set up. /XXXPW. If provided, the
operator can execute an XXX command and provide the XXXPW. Then,
access will be allowed to all functions.
* DOS commands can be executed at any time
* New UNDELETE feature can recover deleted records
* A third color can be specified, to highlight field names on the
  data display screens.
* Soundex algorithm improved. First char need not be exact.
* Search improvement: ~scanacross can include imbedded wildcard
  characters.
* Sort can now sort in Soundex sequence as an option
* Case-sensitive sorting is now an option. /CASESORT in profile
* Case-sensitive searching is now an option. /CASEFIND in profile
* There are now two "dupe" keys. Both work instantly.
  (Ctrl)F duplicates the field
  (Ctrl)D duplicates the entire record
There is also a "DUPE*" field mask available for auto-dupe fields
* A field can now contain BOTH an edit mask and a constant.
* PCFix can also removes deleted records.
* Import and export can handle selected records, with operator override
* Import can now import a pcfile database, changing field lengths if
necessary. This eliminates the need for a "merge" program. Allows
  "merging" selected records.
* A "Duplicate record" reporting utility has been added.
* Automatic fields (i.e. YYMMDD*) can also have an edit mask, like
  this :YYMMDD*09:
* Each automatic field can be specified as:
    1. automatic only when ADDing records
    2. automatic only when MODifying records
    3. automatic when ADDing or MODifying
* The relative record number (#) is now a calculation. It can be used
  in calculations or selections.
* "Autoskip" option on data entry. When field is filled, cursor
automatically moves to next field, without having to press (Enter).

Diskette X4 - PC-Write
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dazu gehren u.a.: Funoten, Titelverwaltung,
Seitennummerierung, Mailmerge, Anpassung vieler Drucker. Ein umfangreiches
Handbuch befindet sich als Textdatei auf der Diskette.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X5 - Chi Writer
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This would be a perfect editor for anyone writing technical
material, like a science or math student. CHI-WRITER is a screen
editor / word-processor that offers the facility of six inter-
angeable fonts, a set of Greek symbols, a set of more conven-
tional symbols with line elements for making boxes, and two sets
of Math symbols. Variable levels of sub-scripting and super-
scripting create the capability to write formulae and draw
diagrams on the screen rather viewing a myriad of control
characters mixed in with the text. The most pleasant surprise is
that when you switch from font to font, you see the font as it
will appear on the page, right there on the screen. Blocks of
text can be also be converted right on screen.

The program is billed as 'Pirateware', which means that the
'manual' is three pages long and contains the main registration
pitch. They list the system requirements and supported printers
along with a price list for support products. Finally, they give
instructions for running the software, and a few words about
compatibility with other software, notably WordStar, Fontrix, and
a spelling checker that they recomend.

The Tutorial is more usefull to an novice user. The Help file
contains a command summary that enable a more experienced user to
stumble around until they become familiar with it. This is also
the Help screen shown during the actual editing. The various
fonts and their keyboard positions are also available through the
Help command. The Demo file is a commercial, complete with
examples of formulae and diagrams.

CHI-WRITER may be customized with user defined commands. The
editor offers three print options, draft, regular and slow. Draft
mode is the fastest, regular and slow being the higher quality
versions. ASCII files may also be edited with CHI-WRITER. The
editor automatically appends extensions to the various files,
.TXT for ASCII, .CHI for CHI-WRITER files.

Registration rewards you with a version of the program that
does'nt treat you with an occasional repeat the of the sponsor's.
More models of printer are supported, and last but not least a
font editor for creating your own fonts. Possibly the bargain of
thhe year in Technical editors.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X6 - Image 3D
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Image-3D is a three-dimensional wire-frame modeling program that enables you to
design, view, and edit three-dimensional objects. All commands are done on
the various menus located to the right of the screen, which will enable you to
quickly choose commands that perform a large variety of design and viewing
tasks. And with Image-3D you can move, scale, rotate, and tip your image
anyway you choose, making the program suited for a variety of creative design
and illustration applications. There are three planes on which to draw on,
and you can select the increment of rotation you want to tip or rotate the
three axes. Portions of the screen can be enlarged which will allow you to
easily view the image you are drawing. An image can be made smaller or
larger, depending on the scale factor that you select. An image can also be
elongated by length, width, or height. An image can also be moved to a
different section of the screen. As you are drawing your image, the x,y, and
z coordinates are shown to the right of the screen. The rest of the screen,
except of the top line, is devoted to displaying the image. There is a full
screen command that temporarily makes the image cover the entire screen until
a key is pressed. To get an easier view of what you are drawing, a certain
command allows you to see the same image in four separate windows, three being
straight on views at different angles and the fourth showing the image at the
angle where you had rotated it. Seven sample drawings are included on this
disk to show you the full capabilities of Image-3D. One shows where all three
planes are actually located, to help you get used to the three dimensions when
actually drawing. This program requires an IBM PC, AT, XT, or compatible,
with 512K RAM available memory. It needs either two disk drives or a hard
disk. It will work with DOS 2.0 or later. This program works only with CGA
or EGA. Recommended, but not required, is a memory resident screen printing
utility, which will allow you to print your images to your printer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X7 - Qubecalc
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

QubeCalc provides many advanced features found only in expensive
spreadsheets, as well as features which can't be found elsewhere
          at any price!!

          - The ability to turn rows into columns, columns into pages, etc.
to allow you to look at your data in any perspective you desire.

          - Recalculation does not have to be just ON or OFF. QubeCalc can
recalculate only a specific block if you wish.

          - A DataFill command which is not limited to a constant step
size. It can generate sine curves, exponential curves, and any
other sequence of data you can think of.

          - The ability to recalculate, graph, and DataFill in all 6
possible orders of rows, columns, and pages.

          - The ability to create bar charts and line graphs from your
          data.

          - A powerful Macro facility.

          - At a price you can't beat anywhere!!!

Welcome to the world of QubeCalc. QubeCalc is a TRUE three
dimensional spreadsheet (as opposed to some two dimensional
spreadsheets which lets you link cells of multiple spreadsheets
together). It gives you the ability to look at your data in more
ways than you ever imagined possible.

You can enter data into the QubeCalc WorkQube just as you would
with any other spreadsheet. You could treat the WorkQube as if
it were 64 separate spreadsheets which are linked together, but
it is much more flexible than just that.

Regular spreadsheets allow you to enter data in a row and column
format. For example, you might have a spreadsheet which displays
the number of sales listed by month and salesman as shown below:

                                       1983
                        Jan83 Feb83 Mar83 Apr83 May83 Jun83
                 -----------------------------------------------
                 bill 12 13 14 14 13 12
                 sam 11 15 13 12 11 10
                 joe 10 10 12 13 11 11

With regular spreadsheets you would need to create a separate
sheet for each year's data... and consolodating these
spreadsheets into a total overview spreadsheet would require
major rehashing or re-entering of the spreadsheet data.

With QubeCalc you can enter each year's data into its own page in
the WorkQube (1983 in one page, 1984 in the next page, and so
on)... and one of the WorkQube's pages can be easily used to link
each year's data together as a total overview spreadsheet.

But the real power of QubeCalc is its ability to rotate the
WorkQube to allow you to look at your data from many different
perspectives. The perspective can be changed so that what were
once pages are now columns, and your data is now displayed as the
number of sales during a given month each year as shown below:

                                      February
                        Feb81 Feb82 Feb83 Feb84 Feb85 Feb86
                 -----------------------------------------------
                 bill 10 10 13 12 11 11
                 sam 11 13 15 14 11 12
                 joe 12 15 10 13 13 10

And successive pages now list sales in March, then April, then
          May, and so on.

Try doing that with a regular spreadsheet!!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X8 - Sidewriter
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Program Description: SIDE WRITER is a program designed to print a text file
sideways along a page so that a lot more columns than
normal can be accomodated. This program would be of
interest to people producing large reports or spread-
sheets that cannot fit into 80 or 132 columns (across).

The program will work on text files and the user can
configure the program to his system.

It requires 128 Kb of memory and a single or dual
sided floppy disk. Three printers which the author
mentions it is compatible with are the IBM, Epson
                      and Thinkjet.

The program is written in PASCAL and the source code
is provided along with the package.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X9 - PC-KeyDraw - (3 disks)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a keyboard to screen drawing program, a zoom printer, and a slide show.
The main drawing portion (DRAW) can best be described as a graphic screen
editor, but it is also a powerful CAD program. The arrow keys on the right of
keyboard are used to control the position of cursor. The function keys on left
of the keyboard select a variety of drawing functions. Most of the function
keys have multiple directives.

The program is designed to make use of the graphics functions of an IBM PC or
XT, Columbia Data MPC, or other compatible. It requires a graphics board, dual
double sided disk drives, and 256K of memory as a minimum. A ram disk of at
least 35K is desirable.

The program is designed to be a general purpose drawing system that does not
require, light pens, mice, digitizers, or other fancy hardware. PC-KEY-DRAW
should prove valuable to a variety of users. It is ideal for the technical and
engineering fields. Screens are created much like drawings on paper, only the
screens can be combined with others to create an entire object. It is
considerably faster than paper, triangle, and pencil for complex objects. For
the student it will serve a wide variety of uses, while the artist can create
patterns not readily possible without a computer.

Basic operation involves moving the cursor to the desired position, selecting
the appropriate function and following the prompts. Many operations require
two or more cursor locations to be chosen. For speed of execution most actions
require a single key stroke (without a RETURN).

The program will run in either a high resolution or medium resolution mode. A
Shift-Tab combination will switch between the two. In medium resolution there
are several extra features to control the color of the screen and the drawing.
Commands that are specific to the color version will be marked with "*C*" in
the help file.

Version 2.0 offers several improvements over early versions. Perhaps the most
significant is the vertical screen scrolling capability. Version 2.0 allows the
user to work with two main screens and two auxiliary screens for flexibility
and power.

PC-KEY-DRAW is fully compatible with screens created in a variety of graphics
programs. It can be used to create complex background screens or to combine
several graphs/screens on one page. It provides several features for producing
screens for user generated programs as well.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X11 - Expert System ESIE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESIE is the acronym for Expert System Inference Engine, and
that is exactly what it is. ESIE loads in a knowledge base,
and builds inferences out of the rules contained therein, to
act like an Advisor. It is an Artificial Intelligence expert
system shell. An infinite multitude of knowledge bases can
         be used by ESIE.

ESIE is also easy to use and to learn. Of the knowledge
bases distributed with ESIE, both DOCTOR and ANIMAL took less
than eight hours apiece to build.

In order to use ESIE you don't need much at all. For
hardware you will need: an MS-DOS (r) or IBM (r) computer
with at least 128 KB of RAM, and a monitor. ESIE should run
on any MS-DOS (r) computer, (it has been tested on several),
but I just can not guarantee that it will run on your
particular machine. ESIE will run on the IBM PC jr, PC, XT,
         and AT (r).

ESIE uses colors to make the whole system more user friendly.
Therefore, a color monitor is recommended, but not required.

For software you only need DOS version 2.0 or higher,
(including 3.0 and 3.1), and a word processor. Any word
processor will do, but the word processor needs to be capable
of producing flat or ASCII, files.

On disk is also a tutorial.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X12 - PDS Quote
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PDS*QUOTE provides a means of rapidly and accurately preparing quotations
for projects which can be expressed in terms of process cost, material cost,
labor cost, and markup. It doesn't appear to have any capabilities for
adding yield or contingency factors on any of the operations.

The system has its own database manager for preparing the various process
cost records, parts cost records, labor cost records, etc.. It also allows
inclusion of special one-time items that wouldn't normally be a part of the
database. It also allow multiple labor groupings and different markups on
each item.

PDS*QUOTE will work nicely in many applications where itemized written
quotations are required by the customer. It allows a quotation to be
printed showing either "raw" or "marked up" line item prices, and saves the
quotation on a disk file after printing.

System requirements are an IBM PC/XT/AT (or compatible), 256K bytes of RAM
memory, one disk drive, and a printer.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X13 - PC Project Management
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This disk contains a complete PC Project Management system. It is cap-
able of handling 1000 tasks, subcontractors, variable start dates, and
holidays. It uses CPM (Critical Path Method); calculates the crical
path, cash-flow, cost reports, Gantt charts, and Precedence networks.
With manual and sample charts.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X14 - The Stock Trader
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Stock Trader is a menu driven stock trading program for tracking
the performance of a group of stocks selected by the user. Data normally
available in the daily newspapers is used and entered on a regular basis.
It is suggested that entry for the listed stocks be done daily, or the
information the program generates will be less accurate than expected.

The performance of selected issues is plotted over a thirty day period
in x-y mode at the user's request, and plotted performance can be printed.
The performance of a selected market average, such as the DOW, may also
be plotted for comparison to portfolio performance.

The program generates buy and sell signals for the stocks listed on the
data files, and the parameters by which these decisions are reached are
accessible to the user. A certain history is needed (a learning curve)
before it can be expected that a user could do the amendments to improve
the buy/sell suggestions. It is made very clear that the program is a tool
rather than a crystal ball.

This program runs from DOS and requires a graphics screen.

Diskette X15 - STAT TOOLS - (2 disks)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Program Description: PC-SIZE determines the sample size requirements for
single factor experiments, two factor experiments, randomized blocks designs,
paired t-tests, and other experiments.	PC-SIZE can calculate the power of
specific sample sizes as well as determine the sample size needed to achieve
specific power. This program, as well as the next two, is written in FORTRAN
77 for the IBM-PC WITH 256K of memory.	Both the source code and executable
code are given. The source code can be modified for running on other
computers. Double precision calculations are used throughout.

Program Description: PC-MULTI constructs simultaneous confidence intervals for
pairwise mean differences using Tukey's honest significant differences
(Studentized range statistic).

Program Description: FORGET-IT produces Forget-it plots, also called
two-way plots.	These were introduced by Tukey (1970, chapter 16) as a
graphical technique for representing the interaction structure in a two-way
table.

Program Description: STAT-SAK is meant as a supplemental tool for anyone who
analyzes data regularly. It was written under the assumption that users would
have access to a "comprehensive" micro or mainframe statistical package such as
SAS, SPSS-X, BMDP, or SYSTAT. STAT-SAK will not do any calculations that
require the entry of the original observations. STAT-SAK calculates
distributions (Normal, t, chi-square, F), tests of independence/homogeneity of
proportions in two dimensional contingency tables, Mantel-Haenszel test,
McNemar's test, correlation coefficients, Bartholomew's test. This program, as
well as the next three, is written in FORTRAN 77 for the IBM-PC with 256K.
Both the source code and executable code are given. The source code can be
modified for running on other computers. Double precision calculations are
used throughout.

Program Description: PC-PITMAN performs exact randomization tests. It also
performs Wilcoxon signed-rank tests and Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney U tests in the
presence of an arbitrary number of ties in the data. The source code is
provided for those who wish to compile smaller or larger versions (this version
allows 100 observations) or wish to move PC-PITMAN to another computer.

Program Description: PC-EMS uses the algorithm of Cornfield and Tukey(1956) to
calculate tables of Expected Mean Squares for balanced experiments.

Program Description: PC-PLAN generates randomization plans. The resulting
file can be used as input to a word processing program for touch up and entry
into a report.

Diskette X18 - C Tutor - (2 disks)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C Tutor is a comprehensive course for the C programming
language. Since C is a very transportable language, the des-
cription here is applicable to most compilers with some slight
differences. This course is recommended for the experienced
programmer who knows about computer programming concepts and
and has used some other high level language. This is a two disk
product. The first diskette contains the tutorial text and it is
recommended that it be printed by use of an included batch file.
The second diskette contains the C source code for each of
the examples included throughout the tutorial. These examples
are meant to be studied and then compiled and run by the student.
The examples are short and focus in on the topic of discussion.
A description of the various compilers and their differences is
included in a text file named COMPILER.DOC to aid you in getting
the source files to compile. All of the points of C language,
including proper structured programming techniques, are covered
at the elementary to he more sophisticated levels in easy to read,
well written text. The authors appear to be highly skilled in both
the use of the programming language and the art of instructional
design. Required, of course, is a complete IBM hardware
setup, including at least one disk drive, and some version of a C
compiler. Also available, in similar format, is a tutorial on the
Pascal programming language.

Kermit-MS is a program that implements the Kermit file transfer protocol for
the IBM PC family, IBM compatibles, and several other machines using the Intel
8086 processor series (8088, 80286, etc) and operating system family (PC-DOS or
MS-DOS, henceforth referred to collectively as MS-DOS or simply DOS).

Kermit-MS version 2.29 runs in as little as 60K of memory (about 55K
contiguous), but will occupy up to 100K, if it can be found, for extra screen
rollback memory. It will also try to leave 24 Kbytes free for a second copy of
COMMAND.COM which is needed for the SPACE command and others. Versions not
using screen rollback memory will not require the additional space.

On the IBM PC, Kermit-MS 2.29 performs almost complete emulation of the DEC
VT-102 terminal at speeds up to 19,200 baud (lacking only smooth scrolling, 132
column mode, and ANSI printer control). Much of the speed is accomplished via
direct writes to screen memory, but this is done in a "TopView" aware manner to
allow successful operation in windowing environments like TopView, MS-Windows,
and DesqView. Speed is also due to direct access of the serial port UART
(8250) chip, with buffered, interrupt-driven receipt of characters and select-
able XON/XOFF flow control. Full-speed 9600 baud operation is possible on
4.77Mhz systems without flow control, but flow control is required on these
systems for 19,200 baud or higher rates.

Kermit-MS 2.29 runs on a wide variety of MS-DOS systems, including the entire
IBM PC family (the PC, XT, AT, PCjr, Portable PC, PC Convertible) and com-
patibles (Compaq, Z150, etc), the DEC Rainbow, NEC APC, Sanyo MBC, Victor 9000,
HP-110, HP-150, HP Portable Plus, and many others.

Diskette X21 - Still River Shell
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Still River Shell presents an enhanced PC-DOS environment.
The shell allows the DOS user much greater efficiency than the
standard DOS interface affords. Typical DOS functions of
executing, finding, copying, moving, deleting and listing of
files and directories can be done with significantly fewer key
strokes when using the Still River Shell; recursive operations
produce even greater efficiencies. And the shell provides a
natural, intuitive interface which makes using DOS both more fun
          and more productive.

You save a lot of work and time using the Still River Shell
through the substantial elimination of command and operand
typing. The shell allows you to use directly system information,
such as file and directory lists, without having to copy the data
from the screen and reenter it on your command line. You can
select common commands without typing them. You can recall, edit
and reenter DOS commands from the shell's prior DOS command
stack. A powerful feature allows you to define your own
extensions to the Still River Shell's command set. The Shell's
full screen, real time presentation makes it an ideal system
interface for mass storage systems such as the IBM/XT and
          IBM/AT.

Diskette X27 - Personal Finance Manager
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personal Finance Manager is a sophisticated household personal finance
management system that has extensive capabilities for managing checking
accounts, credit cards, savings accounts, and investment accounts. The
program is menu-driven and requires no computer knowledge to operate. A
cursory review of the operations section of the manual is adequate for
effective operation of the program. This program is an 8+ on a scale of 10.

The program provides numerous functions and reports that are useful for
controlling home (or small business) finances:

It manages ten (10) separate checking and credit card accounts that
record all purchases, withdrawals, interest, etc.

It has an unpaid bills function to store one-time-only, monthly or
annually recurring bills, and prompt when they fall due. Bills are
automatically entered in the checking file when paid.

It has an investment and savings account program that tracks where money
is invested and how well those investments are performing.

It has numerous reports, the most interesting being a budget report to
show how much was spent in any user defined budget area such as food,
    entertainment, auto expense, etc..

The documentation consists of a forty-eight (48) page manual which is
included on the diskette. It is formatted for printing to the system
printer using the COPY command.

This program is designed to run on an IBM PC, XT or JR with at least 192K
bytes of RAM memory, one disk drive, a color graphics or monochrome display,
and PC DOS 1.1 or higher. It will not run properly on some "100%
compatible" systems such as the Zenith 150. Compatibles that are known to
properly run the program include Columbia, Compaq, Sanyo (cursor control
won't work), Eagle (program acts like its on a monochrome PC), Leading Edge
(program acts like its on a monochrome PC) and Sperry (program acts like its
on a monochrome PC).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X28 - Fingerpaint
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
System Requirements: IBM PC and Compatibles with 200K memory. Color Graphics
Adapter or Hercules Graphics card and graphics monitor

Finger Paint is a simple to use, straight-forward paint program designed for
either home or office use.

The program has most of the bells and whistles you would find in a print
program: variable drawing functions (dots, lines, rectangles, circle, arcs,
etc.) but has a few which is rare in a program of this price (text insertion,
variable text fonts, many different built-in patterns).

One of its major advantages is that it is Hercules graphic compatible. The CGA
emulation program included on the disk, when booted up before running Finger
Paint (the HF batch file does this for you automatically), will allow most, if
not all, Hercules Monochrome Graphic Card users to use this program.

The program is geared with ecconomy in mind. From the regisration fee of $7.00
(which will allow the user to print their creations to a printer) to its
non-requirement of a mouse, it should fit the needs of almost any user.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X29 - Super Pinball
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUPER PINBALL is a collection of great pinball games. The disk is
menu driven allowing you to jump back and forth between games without
returning to dos each time. There is no documentation privided with this
disk as none is needed, simply type GO and choose your game. Games are
played using the right and left shift keys. Super Pinball will run on any
IBM-PC or compatible with at least 128 K memory, one disk drive, an a CGA
(color graphics adapter) card.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X30 - AsEasyAs
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AsEasyAs is an enhanced and refined spreadsheet program supporting 52 columns
and 200 rows. Formulas and functions are provided over a broad range as well
as text entry. A minimum of 256K is required.

A central feature of AsEasyAs is an ability to plot graphs, both bar charts
and x-y coordinate. AsEasyAs also does block copies, block moves and range
formatting. Files may be saved, retreived and printed, and the file
extension is .WKS, common to another popular spreadsheet program. The
command mode is through complete on-screen menus, and commands may be chosen
by cursor control and ENTER, or by first letter.

There are additional features that allow portions of spreadsheets to be
extracted or combined through the File sub-commands, and there is a linked
calculation sequence that saves considerable time when recalculating.

System Requirements: 256k of memory 1 floppy and color graphics

MS-DOS 2.00 or greater. DBS-KAT supports cataloging removeable disk
    cartridges.

DBS-Kat is an easy, practical, super capacity diskette cataloger.
Without sacrificing processing performance, it cn manage up to
9'999 diskettes and 16 million filenames in one central database.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X32 - BEST PLAN (2 disks)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The general goal of designing a linear programming planning system
like BEST-PLAN was to put the maximum amount of analytical power into
the hands of the people directly concerned with the problem, to
require only a minimum of specialized knowledge or experience on the
part of the user, and at the same time giving him the advantages of
  mathematical modeling for planning.

With this goal in mind, BEST-PLAN was developed with the following
  specifications:

   - Flexible, user-oriented interface to the planner. English-like
input data language that the planner can relate to. The data
input concept is through a materiel-flow dialogue and not
      mathematical equations.

   - Automatic generation of models from this materiel-flow data entry
concept. Specialized knowledge of linear programming is not
required, and conveniently made transparent to the user.

   - Efficient and dependable optimization of the models using well
      accepted algorithms.

   - Report writing of the optimization results in concise, easy-to-use
      terms, requiring no programming expertise.

   - Integration with the IBM-PC or /XT, completely self-contained,
and menu-driven, thus giving the planner the convenience,
accessibility and cost-effectiveness of the IBM-PC.

   - Interfaces or links to other decision-support systems or the like,
such as VISICALC, LOTUS 1-2-3, etc.. thus extending any current
planning activity to include profit maximization and/or cost
      minimization.

The program comes with an online tutorial.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X34 - Graphtime II Business Graphics Package (2 disks)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GRAPHTIME-II is designed for use with dBASE II/III, Multiplan and LOTUS, but
can very easily be used on its own with data entered from the keyboard.

The package consists of seven main modules: Business Graphics (GRAPH) with
up to fourteen graph types, a full-screen colour graphics editor (DRAW) , a
text generator and font editor (FONT), file input/edit (FILE), text and
macro Editor (TEXTED), printer driver (PRINT) and plotter driver (PLOT).
The graphics editor can be used to create free-form diagrams or to enhance a
previously generated graph. You can select either arrow keys, joystick or
mouse to control the graphics cursor.

GRAPHTIME-II can be either menu or command driven, with an emphasis on
ease of use. Once data has been entered or transferred it can be modified in
many ways with the built-in mathematical functions such as trend and smooth.
All scales and labels are generated automatically with manual override. A
macro facility (FM command) is included for commonly used command sequences
 and to control slide shows.

One very useful feature is the UNDO (Fn 4) key. Any graph or calculation can
be reversed to the previous state. This allows for `what-if' experiments with
data manipulation, and removal of the last item drawn with the screen editor.

Display output from GRAPHTIME-II can be on either colour or monochrome screens
using the standard colour/graphics adaptor card. Printer drivers are included
for a number of popular graphics printers.

Colour printing is available using the Quadram Inkjet printer. Colour slides
can be quickly produced with an Instagraphic camera or any 35mm camera.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X37 - Disk Spool
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DISK SPOOL is a sophisticated print-spooling-to-disk program
for the IBM PC, XT, and AT. Unlike memory spoolers, DISK SPOOL
spools printed data out to a disk, thereby allowing a virtually
unlimited amount of information to be spooled. DISK SPOOL has
the following features:

   - runs with virtually any application
   - runs in the background, at the same time other programs are
     running
   - "pop up" menu allows the following functions:
     - stop or start spooling
     - stop or start printing
     - clear spool file
     - display spooled data on screen
     - reposition printing anywhere within spool file (even if
       data has already been printed)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X38 - MakMyDay
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MakeMyDay! is a complete computerized Time Management system for
the IBM PC family of computers. It is an Appointment Calendar, a
Job Scheduler, a Time Log and an Expense Account Manager. It can be
used to keep track of all of these things for one person, or for
several people. It makes use of your line printer to produce all
the worksheets and printed reports you need to organize your
   business and personal schedule.

The APPOINTMENT CALENDAR allows you to keep track of all of your
appointments, twenty-four hours per day. It will handle individual
appointments or repeating appointments (first Tuesday of each month,
every Monday at 8 O' Clock, etc.). You can view your appointments on
your computer monitor or get a printed report.

The JOB SCHEDULER keeps track of your complete "to do" list, broken
down into the categories you assign. It will remind you of everything
you have scheduled for yourself. Incomplete items are rolled forward
until you mark them as complete. In addition, MakeMyDay! will provide a
Work In Progress report for each category you assign. The next time the
boss suddenly wants to know "How do we stand on the Wombat project ?",
you'll be able to provide a complete printed list of every activity
involved- the day it was scheduled to be completed, and the day it
was completed along with everything that remains to be done.

The EXPENSE ACCOUNT MANAGER keeps track of your expenses. You assign
the categories (travel, entertainment, hotel, etc.) under which each
item belongs. You also specify the date and the amount, and whether
the item is a payment or reimbursement. MakeMyDay! keeps track of
everything and provides the account information you need, broken down
   by the categories you assign.

Finally, the TIME LOG keeps track of the time you've spent on each
client or project and provides the necessary documentation when you
want it. Attorneys, accountants, consultants- anyone who needs to keep
a log of time spent- will find this feature useful.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X39 - Hard Disk Menu System
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HARD DISK MENU system is a DOS shell which allows the user to create a 10
page menu of DOS MACRO's ('BATCH'-like command sequences) for running your
favorite software or performing common DOS functions. The program is very
easy to set up and includes extensive help screens within the program. HDM-II
allow the use of user defined variables and parameters to create complex
'BATCH'-type sequences. Passwords can be set up to prevent unauthorized
access to any (or all) menu selections.

The documentation for HMD-II assumes a good working knowledge of DOS
including BATCH, and PATH commands. The documentation is organized quite well
with a question/answer section for problem solving and 3 sections on the
systems advanced features.

HMD-II is limited to 100 total menu selections (10 pages, 10 selections per
page) but instructions are provided to expand this number in increments of
100.

Two programs are provided on the disk for sending control codes to an
EPSON or IBM ProPrinter printer.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X40 - PC Outline
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PC-OUTLINE is an outlining and planning program. It
allows you to randomly enter information of almost any
type (thoughts, plans, ideas, etc.) and then organize it
into a hierarchial structure. Once in the hierarchial
structure, you can view the information in many powerful
ways. For example, using the hide/unhide feature, you
can view just down to any level of detail in the outline
that you want. With a single keystroke, you can go from
viewing the lowest level of detail to a view that shows
you only the highest, most important topics.

With another few keystrokes, you can print the outline,
send it to a file compatible with your word processor,
copy it into another outline, or paste it directly into
     your word processor.

PC-OUTLINE is particularly appropriate for list making.
Tasks like making todo lists or planning a project are
     ideally suited for PC-OUTLINE.

For an example of how the hierarchical structure works
and how you can hide and unhide parts of the outline,
start PC-OUTLINE and load the outline titled TUTOR1. The
text in the outline will help show you what PC-OUTLINE
     can do.

          Standard PC-OUTLINE outlining features include:

             - hierarchical outline structure
             - structured indenting
             - hide/unhide (collapse/expand) any portion of the outline
             - powerful outline rearrangement functions

          Advanced PC-OUTLINE features include:

             - automatic numbering, including choice of numbering style
(alphabetic, numeric, roman, bullets, or none)
             - easy, pull-down menus
             - multi-line outline entries
             - automatic paragraph reformatting
             - margin control
             - centering, left and right justification
             - hanging indents

             - on screen page break display
             - conditional and hard page breaks
             - block copies, moves, and deletes
             - tab stop settings
             - send printer control strings
             - printer formatting: underline, boldface, italics,
               sub/superscript, double strike
             - windowing: up to 9 outlines open/on screen at once in
               user-defined windows
             - zoom any window to full screen with a single keystroke
             - copy or move outline or text directly between windows
             - customizable printer drivers
             - sorting
             - user defined macros/key redifinition
             - live date and time stamps
             - full support for dos 2.0 and above
             - read/write other file formats including: ascii, Wordstar,
               ThinkTank/Ready!
             - data transfer with other programs including cut and paste
to other active programs while memory resident
             - configuration file to set startup defaults
             - compatible with other memory resident programs (like
               SideKick, ProKey, etc.)
             - freely mix outlines and text: titles, skip numbering, start
new numbering, move placement right and left
             - return to dos without leaving PC-OUTLINE

PC-OUTLINE requires dos 2.0 or greater, one floppy disk drive,
128k RAM, and an IBM PC/XT/AT or compatible, and can be configured to
occupy as little as 80k when memory resident.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X46 - Turnkey
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Turnkey is a program which helps you to set up your computer as a menu
driven system. It provides an editing facility to allow you to enter/edit
your menu choices (the words you want to be displayed on the menu). It
then allows you to specify what actions should be taken for each item in
the menu. Turnkey can then pop up a menu with your choices, and allow you
to run a program simply by moving the cursor over your choice and hitting
enter... and when you finish running your program, you are returned to
the menu.

For example, you could create a menu with the following choices:

                             Spreadsheet
                             Programming
                             Word Processing
                             Exit to DOS

You could then run your word processor by moving the cursor bar over
the words "Word Processing" and hitting the enter key. Once you have
exited your word processor you would be returned to the menu above.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X48 - PC Graph
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

files which have been created by PC-File. It has been designed
specifically for ease of use and understanding.

With PC-Graph you can see your data very quickly, giving you a
perspective that reports cannot (a picture is worth a thousand
     words!!). With PC-Graph you can:

     - Produce line graphs of Report files or Database files (up to
         1000 records)

     - Define the area on the screen to use for your graphs

     - View all or portions of your data

     - Put labels and comments on your graphs

     - Save graphs to disk

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X49 - PC-Calc
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PC-CALC is an easy-to-use "Visible Spreadsheet" program. If you
work with numbers, at home, on the job or at school, PC-CALC is
for you. Whether the task is simple or complex, PC-CALC can help
you. By using its powerful commands, reports can be produced in
minutes that would take hours to do manually, or days to write in
         BASIC.

Here are some examples of how people are using PC-CALC:

            - Computing interest and principal on loans, mortgages,
              savings accounts.

            - Preparing payroll journals, sales journals, accounts
              receivable journals.

            - Doing income tax computations, computing depreciation,
              accumulating income and expenses.

            - Preparing business forecasts, P&L's, ten-year projections,
etc. and then playing "what if..." to see the impact of
              changing one or more numbers.

            - Analyzing investments, balancing checkbooks, keeping budgets.

            - Preparing homework assignments for classes in bookkeeping,
              accounting, math, etc.

Spreadsheets created with PC-CALC can be displayed and altered on
the screen, printed out, saved on disk and reloaded for further
changes or review. If you create a really wide spreadsheet that
won't fit on one page, no problem. PC-CALC will print two pages
that can be attached to make one wide spreadsheet.

And spreadsheets are not limited to the size of your computer
screen. PC-CALC will scroll up, down and sideways to give you a
spreadsheet up to 26 columns wide and 255 lines long. Numbers and
words can be placed anywhere on the spreadsheet. The width of
each column of your spreadsheet can be any size from 1 character
to 30 characters wide. A number can have from one to nine
decimals, or no decimals at all. These are just a few of the
         features that PC-CALC provides.

bridge. Here's your chance to learn, practice, or just enjoy the
game of bridge without needing three other players. BridgePal is
played just like bridge, except the computer shuffles and deals the
cards, bids and plays three hands, and does the scoring. You will
bid and play the South hand. If your team gets the bid, then you
play both the North and South hands.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X51 - UVESTOR
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UVESTOR is a program designed to track all transactions of any investment
whether it is a stock, a bond, a fixed dollar denominated investment such
as a note, or an appreciable dollar denominated investment such as real
estate. It will read the investment reports and calculate the internal
rate of return. It will produce portfolio reports in total or by any one
of the above categories. It will produce networth statements and it will
produce amortized loan tables. It will handle multiple accounts.

The availability of complete and accurate records of investments can be of
inestimable value in helping to determine future investing policy. This
is particularly true if combined with the ability to evaluate the true
return of those investments on a time related basis. This program provides
an easy method of maintaining those investments and of computing the
internal rate of return on investments regardless of the types of
investments such as stocks, bonds, notes, real estate and others. It also
provides the ability to produce phantom files of investments under
consideration, (under a separate account) provided that reasonable
forecasts of returns can be made, and to measure that return on a time
related basis for comparison with other alternative courses of action.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X52 - Composer
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COMPOSER is a graphics based music editor which allows you to compose,
edit, play, save and print single voice music. Since COMPOSER is a graphics
based editor, you can actually see the notes that make up your music. You
do not have to work with a confusing mixture of letters and number, like
some other music programs require the user to do. Once your music looks
correct on the screen and sounds correct, you can print your music using
any dot matrixs printer.

COMPOSER'S editing features make music entry easy. By using COMPOSER'S
block insert and delete mode, large sections of music can be manipulated
quickly.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X53 - DANCAD 3D
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The program only works with the CGA (Color Graphics Adapter), or
equivalent, video board. It uses the "hi-res" 640x200 mode. Your
computer must have 640K (512k for the 512k version) DOS system memory.
If you have enough extra memory above the 640K to put all the files
named DANCAD3D.??? in a RAM disk the program will run better.

What can you do with DANCAD3D? DANCAD3D was written to let you do
complex tasks like stereoscopic 3D wire frame animation or just draw
simple things like a letter head. DANCAD3D is a program that lets you
draw with lines. These lines can be in a plane, like drawing on a
piece of paper (2D drawing). Or they can go any direction in space
(3D drawing). Three-dimensional drawings made of lines are called
wire frame drawings. You can separate groups of lines into "elements"
that can be: saved, loaded, magnified, rotated, flipped, offset
(moved), and used over and over again, by keeping them as a file on a
disk (give them names like cube, sphere, and cylinder).

You can enter where you want your lines by drawing, from the
numeric menu Enter command, or through a macro (see the section on
macros). Lettering, blocks of text, and dimensioning can be
automatically generated as elements made of lines. Since the elements
are separate they can be moved and displayed repeatedly to simulate
the effects of motion on the objects you have drawn. You can put a
list of elements, their position, and the view point from which they
are to be displayed in a macro (ASCII text file), so DANCAD3D can run
itself without you having to enter the commands manually through the
menus and keyboard.

DANCAD3D prints out very sharp lines and is useful for: line
drawings, mechanical drawing, technical illustration, wire-frame
animation, engineering simulation to verify the fit of three
dimensional shapes, business forms, page layout combining text and
drawings, and automatic computer "slide" shows.

DANCAD 3D can turn a PC into a graphics terminal that you can
drive using its macro commands through the PC's serial port. Just
enter DANCAD3D AUX at the DOS prompt to start it up this way.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disketten X54, X55, X56 - DANMOVIE
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For Use With DANCAD3D.COM (look at disk X53)

         SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

         * Color Graphics Adapter Video Board (CGA) 100% compatible.
         * 512k or more memory.
         * 100% compatible PC with a disk drive.

DANMOVIE works with DANCAD 3D to animate screens saved as pixel
bit maps. DANCAD 3D can print out or plot the drawings at very high
resolution (greater than 4 million pixels) if you like the way the
     animation looks using DANMOVIE.

DANMOVIE is a useful engineering tool since you can program DANCAD
3D to make an animated close-up of parts in a layout drawing. In that
way you can confirm the fit of moving parts. You can also program
DANCAD 3D to produce a animated perspective view of the whole assembly
with all its parts in motion!

Disketten X57 - Astrosoft Ephemeris (2 disks)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the AstroSoft Computerized Ephemeris, or ACE for
short. ACE is a general-purpose astronomy software package
consisting of three separate parts, each supporting a variety of
astronomy-related applications for the IBM Personal Computer and
        true compatibles.

Part I of ACE (Astronomical Ephemeris) performs the most needed
astronomical calculations, involving the sun, the moon, the
planets, eclipses, astrophotography exposures, mean sidereal time
and Julian Day, precession of coordinates, phases of the moon,
equinoxes and solstices, Galilean satellites of Jupiter,
perpetual calendar, and Polaris. It achieves an accuracy in
calculations that is comparable to those contained in the
ASTRONOMICAL ALMANAC and is more comprehensive and convenient,
for astronomical observing purposes, than the FLOPPY ALMANAC.

Part II of ACE (Solar System Data) provides, for all the planets
and satellites of the solar system, orbital and physical data, as
well as descriptive and observational data.

Part III of ACE (Sky Catalog) provides data on over 2000 deep-sky
objects, the entire Messier Catalog, 100 named objects, all
bright stars to magnitude 2.00, and 100 prominent double stars,
with detailed commentary on nearly 400 of these objects. Objects
may be searched for on the basis of one criterion or by a
        combination of criteria.

ACE runs on any IBM Personal Computer (PC, XT, or AT) or true
compatible with the following minimum configuration:

128 kilobytes of Random Access Memory (RAM)
             1 double-sided floppy diskette drive

Diskette X60 - PC Demo
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The PC Demonstration System (PDS) provides a way for you to make
program demonstrations, prototypes and other types of presentations.
There are three programs in the PC Demonstration System:

Screen Formatter - which is used to create the screens for your
        presentation.

Demo Maker - which is used to create a "sequence file" that
describes the order in which your screens will be displayed, along
with the valid keys that can be used to branch within your
        presentation.

Demo Run - which takes your screens and your sequence file and
        "runs" your presentation.

The PC Demonstration System requires a 256K or larger IBM PC, PC-XT,
PC-AT or IBM PC "compatible" and DOS 2.0 or later. PDS works only in
80 column mode with either the color or monochrome display adapter.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X61 - Imageprint
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMAGEPRINT is a program which allows you to produce high quality characters on
your dot-matrix printer. With IMAGEPRINT you can print important letters,
resumes, and documentation on your standard IBM Graphics Printer/Epson. There
is no need to buy a daisy wheel printer, another parallel port, another cable.

IMAGEPRINT runs as a standard applications program. Text input to IMAGEPRINT
can come either directly from the keyboard (typewriter mode) or from a diskette
file. The text input can contain embedded backslash ("\") commands, which
select bold, underlining, proportional spacing, etc. Text can be formatted
(left and right justification, margins, etc) with a word processor or by using
IMAGEPRINT's built-in formatting capabilities.

Whether you're working with an IBM Graphics Printer, an Epson printer, or a
compatible printer, IMAGEPRINT allows you to print the IBM Graphics Printer's
extended character set, which matches the IBM PC's character set, in letter
quality. All of the mathematical symbols, national characters and graphics
characters are included.

IMAGEPRINT provides all of the standard IBM Graphics Printer character
attributes like bold, double width, underline, and compressed.

Additional features provided by IMAGEPRINT include italic, half-high, 12
characters per inch (cpi), true superscript and subscript, 6 or 8 lines per
inch, Epson JX series printer color control and proportional character spacing.

There are three IMAGEPRINT print qualities: Medium quality fast 3 pass printing.

In this mode the print head moves at standard printer speed. The printing is
more dotty than the other two modes, especially in the horizontal direction.
This mode is useful for memos and reports that don't need top print quality, or
for fast proofing.

High quality 3 pass printing.

In this mode the print head moves at one half standard printer speed. This is
the default quality of IMAGEPRINT. The print quality is excellent and can be
used for your important correspondence.

High quality 6 pass printing.

In this mode, the print head moves at one half standard printer speed. Use this
mode for your most important letters, or if your printer ribbon is getting old.

IMAGEPRINT recognizes "dot commands" that select left and right margins, text
justification, even and odd page gutters, automatic centering, headers, footers,
six and eight lines per inch and line spacing. Backslash commands, including
double width, do not affect the formatting. See the Section "Formatting
commands" for more details.

IMAGEPRINT is compatible with any of the following dot- matrix printers:

         IBM Graphics Printer or compatibles
IBM Proprinter (Set DIP sw 6 so <LF> becomes <CR><LF>)
         Epson FX series printers
         Epson RX series printers
         Epson LX series printers
         Epson JX series printers
Future Epson printers (Epson has a policy of downward
                                compatibility for its new printers)
         Epson compatible printers

IMAGEPRINT works with printers connected to the parallel interface on ports
LPT1:, LPT2:, or LPT3:. It will not work with serially interfaced printers.

IMAGEPRINT works with the IBM PC, IBM PC XT, IBM PCjr, and any true compatibles,
like the Compaq. It runs under PC-DOS or MS-DOS versions 1.1 and above.

Diskette X62 - LOGO
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LadyBug is a version of LOGO patterned after the Apple II
implementation developed by Terrapin, Inc. and with features
from other LOGO systems. In general it has most of the graphics
commands, the mathematical computations, and the control
commands, of Apple LOGO. In addition it has:

          - Commands and words from various other LOGO implementations.
Commands with the same names as IBM LOGO commands are mainly
              compatible with IBM LOGO.
          - A library of procedures adapted from a variety of sources.
          - Painting of areas.
          - Clipping of drawings (as well as wraparound).
          - A fast full screen editor.
          - Support for using both displays if both are present.
          - Sounds -- PLAY statement like Basic.

          The major features missing are:

          - List manipulation.
          - Variable numbers of parameters to primitives.
          - Saving screen images.

LadyBug requires a system with at least:

          - 128K of memory.
          - One single sided disk drive.
          - A graphics adaptor.
          - A graphics display of any kind. Color is supported only on a
color display; 80 column editing is supported only on a high
resolution monitor. A color TV set will work but colors will
              not be accurate.
          - DOS 1.1, 2.0, or 2.1. (DOS 1.0 has not been tested.)
          - An IBM PC, PCjr, or compatible machine.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X63 - PILOT - Virtual Teaching Language Interpreter
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This version of the interpreter is designed for users of
either the IBM monochrome-printer adapter or the color display
adapter in text or graphics mode.
Virtual Teaching Language is a new dialect of the PILOT
instructional language. Standard PILOT is designed to display
information on a screen, ask questions, and get responses. The
responses are matched against phrases defined by the programmer.
Depending on whether or not a match is found, subsequent commands
may or may not be executed.
In addition to the standard PILOT commands to print a line,
ask a question, match phrases, jump to a new line, run a subrou-
tine, return from a subroutine and end execution, and the frame-
loading and chaining commands mentioned above, Virtual Teaching
Language includes commands to perform limited numerical and text
manipulations, read from and write to a disk file, specify a
string to be matched against phrases, and print data on a
lineprinter. All of these commands may make use of 'registers'
built into the interpreter--temporary storage areas which may be
used for calculations, and whose contents are automatically
inserted into command lines where appropriate. Twenty-six
registers for each of three data types--integer, real, and
string--are provided. The use of registers permits indirect
command addressing and indexed jumps, as well as embedded
calculation of scores, execution checkpoints, and implementation
of interruptable and resumable programs. An additional 26
extended string registers give the programmer access to the date
and time, the current program name, the current line number, and
        several other useful quantities.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X64 - Service Management - (2 disks)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This program relates service or maintenance activities to persons
or parts. An example of 'person' would be relating service calls to
individual mechanics, then later creating separate reports for each
mechanic. To relate to 'parts' would mean grouping maintenance calls
by asset or machinery. With this method, you could look at all
maintenance done to a printing press, a lathe, or a hotel room for any
period of time. IN-CONTROL 2 [TM] allows you to select either method
and lets you design your own screens to customize this program to your
business. With this feature, you can identify how each screen would
look for any one piece of equipment, say a Bus, or for any person,
such as a mechanic.

System Requirements: 384K of memory and two floppy drives.

Be in control of your Maintenance. This program includes:
Appointments, Billings/Expenses, Graphics, Free-form data search,
                       Rolodex features, and Reports!

with the ability to customize all screens to reflect the terminology
                         specific to your industry.
and can time and cost your activities

and contains a 12 chapter interactive tutorial that is always on-line!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X65 - Flasbak
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flashbak is a MSDOS-PCDOS backup, file management, utility
designed for fast intuitive use. This version is designed
to be a useful, fast, floppy based backup of hard disk systems.
All backup is done from hard disk (drive C:, D:, etc) to and from
floppy drive A: Standard DSDD disks are used (formatted or unformatted).
This program is NOT designed to backup files from floppy to floppy.

The entire directory tree structure of the hard disk is displayed
allowing the user to browse through directorys and files. This
easy approach to backup file selection simplifies and encourages
frequent backup.

The restore process is virtually identical with the backup process
simplifing usage.

Flashbak(TM) was originally developed as a tape based backup
utility for 9 track tape. We felt putting a floppy front end
on it would provide a service to the large number of people
who need to backup smallish amounts of data where floppies would
be adequate.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X67 - Minigen
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Minigen is a Turbo Pascal(tm) screen code generator designed to work on
an IBM PC or compatible with a MonoChrome or Color Graphics Adapter installed.
With it you can paint data entry screens (constants areas and data fields),
open and close windows with borders and cursor memory, perform controlled data
entry and create pull down menus. Minigen produces Turbo Pascal code to be
used in programs which you are writing. MiniGen is entirely written in Turbo
Pascal (tm) using the same source code routines provided on this disk.
Since this is a programming aid, the documentation assumes that you
already know how to program in Turbo Pascal. It also assumes knowledge of DOS
and jumps right in describing the various functions and how to use them. This
program is designed primarily for intermediate to experienced users and not
for the novice.
The program will run on any IBM-PC or compatable with at least 128 K of
memory and one disk drive. A CGA (Color Graphics Adapter) card is useful but
not required.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X68 - LQ Printer Utility
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LQ is an impressive printer utility which allows you to use your inexpensive
dot matrix printer to print a variety of fonts in near letter quality. LQ
supports EPSON printers (as well as several others). LQ may be loaded as
a memory resident program to filter the data from your word processor or
other programs, or it may be used standalone to process individual files.
The memory resident mode is the most convenient way to use LQ, but it uses
around 100K of RAM.

LQ comes with a large assortment of predefined fonts including COURIER,
GREEK, HELVETICA, ROMAN, and many others (including italics for each font).
A character editor is also provided to allow you to modify or create your
own font sets. Each font character is 10 by 24 dots so there is enough
resolution to make some pretty decent fonts (I played around with Old
English).

Be prepared to do some waiting though. Since LQ uses graphics mode to
print the fonts, printing goes a whole lot slower than regular text printing
(that's the price for high quality). LQ does provide some aid by providing
a print spooler which is optimized for graphics data.

This disk also provides a program named BIGPRINT which allows you to print
out large letter banners on your printer (using any of the same fonts that
LQ uses). If your printer is an EPSON (or EPSON compatible) then the
banner letters are generated using the block graphics characters, otherwise
they are created with asterisks. (Just make sure you don't have LQ loaded
when you run BIGPRINT or your printer will be running forever.)

As an extra you get a scheduling calendar program which you can put in
your autoexec file to remind you when upcoming appointments are near!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X69 - Purchase Order System
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Purchase Order System is a program that makes it convenient and easy for the
user to enter and print purchase orders, and keep a record of all vendors. A
list of vendors can be entered with their address and phone number, which can
later be browsed, edited, or deleted. A vendor master list can be sent to the
printer. When entering in a purchase order, the screen is divided into
several columns for the account number, quantity, unit, item description, and
price. All the user has to do is to enter in the correct information while
the program will keep a running total of the purchase order. Purchase order
numbers go up to 32,767, after which they begin at one again. The beginning
purchase order number can be specified within the program. Outstanding
purchase transactions can be printed out by account, vendor, or purchase
order. Purchases received can be cleared immediately, and if a purchase
transaction is accidentally cleared it can be uncleared for recall. All
purchase transactions can be browsed over without changing them or deleting
them in any way. New data files can be created and the data file indexes can
be rebuilt at any time. All the menus are self-explanatory and the options
are listed in the bottom line of the screen. A color graphics card is
required for this program.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X70 - Auto-Log
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE RECORD SYSTEM (VRS) is a menu driven series of programs
designed to help you keep track of your vehicle's expenses. It is
written specifically for cars, trucks, etc., but with the exception
of the GAS-LOG and the COST PER MILE programs, you should be able
to use it for almost anything you drive.

Since people are keeping their vehicles (hereafter referred to as
cars) for a longer period of time, we felt it would be appropriate
to help drivers keep accurate records. With VRS, you will be able
to determine costs over the life of the car or within a certain
period of time (6 months, 1 year, etc.) If you sell your car, you
can show your records (and your receipts) to potential buyers (If
you were buying a used car and were trying to choose between two
cars, you would probably look more favorably at the one that had
kept a log of the car's history).

VRS requires the following MINIMUM hardware and software:

            - IBM PCjr, IBM PC, IBM PC/XT, IBM AT
(or other 100% IBM PC Compatibles)
            - IBM Color Display or IBM Monochrome Display
              (or Equivalents)
            - One 360K Floppy Disk Drive (Two are recommended)
            - 128K Bytes of Memory
            - DOS 2.00

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X71 - Homebase - (2 disks)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HomeBase is a complete Desktop Organizer. It has at least one up
on SideKick. Indeed, PC Magazine went so far as to say: "One way
to look at it is to say that Borland's product is a first-
generation organizer, while ... [Homebase] is second or third
generation. It delivers the most bang for the buck among desktop
          organizers."

HomeBase will run on a 256k machine with two disk drives, but it's
really designed for computers with hard drives. This makes sense
in view of its extensive DOS services. It requires only 180k of
memory when it is resident in memory. HomeBase works with
virtually every program although you must sometimes take care to
stack the various elements correctly in the AUTOEXEC.BAT.

Once installed, HomeBase can be called on while just about any
other program is active and it can perform communication tasks
quietly in the background while other programs are working.

Primary HomeBase functions include: DOS services, linear database
          services, editor/word processor, calendar/appointment book,
terminal communications, calculator and cut-and-paste operations.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X72 - Newsbase
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Newsbase is a convenient and powerful database application designed to help
one keep track of the contents of each issue of a periodical. It can be
useful to publishers of journals, magazines, news and newsletters, as well as
television and radio broadcasters. Various menus and a help screen make this
prigram very easy to use. Newsbase makes it easy to find a story, editorial,
or artwork that is related to a particular subject. For advertisers, Newsbase
can give an overview of all the ads placed by a certain customer in the
periodical over the last few months. This program allows the user to give a
description, headline, synopsis, and key words or phrases for the article that
is to be stored in a file on a data disk. The starting column, page number,
volume and number of the periodical, and the issue date can also be recorded
with the short description. Afterwards, the search function will look for a
particular word or phrase that is entered or list all the articles within a
certain time frame in order to find the particular article that is being
looked for. Afterwards the serach function allows the user to make a hardcopy
of the information to the printer or to an ASCII file. Newsbase can work with
either a color or monochrome moniter, and can work with a fixed disk as well
as one or two floppy disk drives.

Diskette X73 - Japanese for Business and Travel
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This tutorial is designed to perform as a teacher, when no teacher is
available. It keeps track of your errors and emphasizes those areas.
It should only be used by one individual at a time, so as to not confuse the
built-in teacher.

This tutorial is composed of questions about vocabulary, grammar, and culture.
The questions are of the fill-in type, multiple choice, and matching. The
course assumes no prior knowledge of Japanese. Be advised that the material
is challenging, but anything worth knowing has it's price. Don't get
discouraged.

The lessons are straight forward and easy to use, yet fun and not boring. The
author's mix of humor and information will keep the user from becoming
distracted from the program.

Note: The author is correct when he states that the audio tape which accompanies
this disk is an added bonus. You can not learn how to speak a language by only
reading that language. The language MUST be heard, so that the nuances of the
words can be heard and understood.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X74 - Instacalc
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTACALC is a full featured spreadsheet program with an interesting
twist, the twist is that the program is "memory resident". What this means is
that when first run (when you type INSTA and press RETURN) nothing appears to
happen, INSTACALC has simply been loaded into memory and is now waiting for
you to "call it up" by pressing ALT-I. INSTACALC will wait patiently while
you type a letter with your word processor or update your database or
whatever, then when you press the magic ALT-I there it is ready to serve you.
But aside from that it has some more usefull reasons for existing, for example
suppose you wanted to add a table of figures from your spreadsheet into a
letter you were typing on your wordprocessor, Instacalc allows you to do this
automatically in one step. Information can also be transferred into Instacalc
from any application you are running. I used PC-WRITE to try the EXPORT
feature and it performed perfectly, placing my columns of figres right where I
had left the cursor before calling up Instacalc. The manual states that the
program will directly import LOTUS (.wks) files as well.
The program will run on an IBM-PC or compatable running MS-DOS or PC-DOS
version 2.0 or higher. Instacalc requires 128 K of memory for itself (not
counting the memory required by your main application)
The documentation provided gives the information needed to evaluate the
most basic functions of Instacalc, the more advanced (and consequently more
usefull) functions are detailed in the full manual available to registered
users.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X75 - HelpDOS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HelpDos is a menudriven program, which provides a quick reference to DOS 2.0
commands and functions. The system provides a wealth of information on all
aspects of DOS. An excellent program for novice users.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X76 - SPL - Structured Programming Language
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This program library contains a NEW programming language for
PC DOS and MS DOS called The Structured Programming Language.

I have gotten this language to work on various computers ranging
from the IBM PCjr,IBM PC,Zenith Z-100 to various IBM Work alike
computers. It is meant to work with your BASIC compiler and/or
interpreter, since the language processor translates SPL to
Microsoft BASIC. It will even cooperate with the newest BASIC
compilers that allow for very large object module sizes. This
means you could have SPL code that can use an entire 640k IBM PC.

NOW the SPL processor creates BASIC code that does not have to be
loaded into the BASIC interpreter first, JUST sort the program
using your DOS SORT utility and then input the sorted BASIC program
into your favorite BASIC compiler.

SPL translated programs are portable to other computers depending
on the type of operations you do. Potential target machines are
CP/M, AMIGA , MACINTOSH , ATARI ST and others that support compiled
and interpreted BASIC. The SPL processor will work on IBM addons
for AMIGA, MACINTOSH , ATARI ST computers.

	NEW RELEASE 10-7-86
THIS RELEASE SUPERCEDES ALL PREVIOUS RELEASES OF THE LANGUAGE
THIS VERSION OF SPL DOES NOT REQUIRE A BASIC INTERPRETER
IT DOES REQUIRE THE SYSTEM SORT UTILITY
AND THE USERS BASIC COMPILER QUICKBASIC 2.00 RECOMMENDED
IT STILL WILL PRODUCE CODE THAT CAN BE USED BY A BASIC INTERPRETER

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X77 - Typing Evaluator
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
TYPING is designed to provide feedback on typing performance for who
are interested in evaluating their typing. When you see the text appear
start typing. The time starts as soon as you type the first character. The
program does not display any statistics while you are typing. When the time
is up the screen clears and your typing performance is displayed in words
per minute, total errors, and adjusted words per minute. The nice thing
about this program is that you may either type from the screen or print out
the file and type from that. You supply the file to type allowing a more
resourceful use for the program as well as controll of it.

System Requirements: 128K and one floppy.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X78 - Home Insurance
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOME INSURANCE is software that allows you to keep track of what you
own, where items are located and how much it would cost to replace
something that is lost. Unfortunately, most of us do not find out how much
property insurance we need until after we suffer a major loss. We then may
learn that our insurance coverage, although based on replacement value, is
not sufficient to cover the complete loss. Or, worse yet, we are unable to
document the true value of our possessions and thus the insurance will only
pay to replace our lost possessions with lower quality items.

HOME INSURANCE provides protection in several ways. First, it provides
a way for you to determine whether or not you have adequate property
insurance. For example, insurance policies generally limit the coverage for
some special items such as jewelry, collectibles (coins, stamps, plates,
dolls, ect.), guns and furs. By categorizing items by type, Home Insurance
can give you the total replacement value for each type of item you own.
This allows you to compare what you actually have versus the limits given
in your insurance policy.

System Requirements: 256k and DOS 2.0 or higher

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X79 - Test
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
TEST will display your questions, accept valid answers and reject
inappropriate ones, show the correct answer with an optional comment when
the answer is incorrect, put incorrectly answered questions on hold and
present them again until the correct answer is givern, keep score of points
associated with correct answers as well as the number of times that an
incorrect answer was entered. All questions can be put on hold an
indefinite number of times, and will be presented again in the same order
as they were encountered. At the end of the test the program will display

Diskette X81 - GAGS - Generic Adventure Game System - (2 disks)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Generic Adventure Game System requires a computer with at
least 256K of memory, MS-DOS 2.1, and at least one disk drive.

The Generic Adventure Game System was written in an effort
to make writing an adventure game as simple as possible, while
still permitting a great deal of flexibility. It _cannot_ be used
to write an adventure game with as many complex features as
Infocom's. To do so would require developing a complete adventure
game programming language, as Infocom has done, and would require
adventure-game writers to learn a very complex set of rules.

There are two clear advantages to the Generic Adventure Game
System (GAGS). First, GAGS uses a standard-format text file for
its data, and the adventure game can be modified simply by
editing the data file with any text editor. Debugging the game
involves playing it: as problems are discovered, the text file
can be edited and the game re-played. Once a basic game is
developed, it can be extended by adding new rooms or special
features (much the same way Adventure was enhanced).

Second, GAGS is infinitely expandable because the complete
Turbo Pascal source code is available. If you decide that another
verb should be available, you can add it. If you think the parser
is too simple, you can try to patch it -- or completely re-write
it. By modifying the source code, you can add new features to the
game which aren't available in the basic system. (Of course,
modifying the source code could lead to week-long debugging
sessions while you try to figure out why this particular
procedure is infinitely recursive or why the disk is reformatted
whenever you try to move east.) Part III of the manual explains
how the source code was written, and suggests a number of
      modifications that can be made.

Diskette X83 - The Front Office - (3 disks)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                         A CONTROL SYSTEM FOR:

                              Prospecting
                           Sales Management
                        Sales Order Processing
                    Job Costing and Profit Analysis

Generally, THE FRONT OFFICE is a management system that will help improve
your business decisions and profits as you proceed along on jobs. While at
the same time, THE FRONT OFFICE is intended to increase income through
improved marketing and sales prospecting techniques. It handles Sales
Orders and payments so balances due and sales taxes are maintained and
reported.

THE FRONT OFFICE is menu-driven to define prospects and salesmen, to do
mailings, and to follow up on leads. The system manipulates prospective
customer information, leads and quote activity, coded sales records, call
reports, sales orders, and job cost. WordStar/ MailMerge or PC-Write are
integrated with THE FRONT OFFICE to produce letters and envelopes. THE
FRONT OFFICE produces letters, envelopes, labels, and reports selectively
by prospect code, salesman code, zip code, follow-up date, customer code
and product code for complete flexibility and control.

The SALES FILE area of the system maintains performance figures on each of
99 possible salesmen. Sales volume projections are compared to current
production and last year's figures, and performance reports reflect the
percentage of increase or decrease. Customer sales data will update sales
performance automatically.

Diskette X84 - Critical Path Method
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"CPM" is program package which performs basic Critical Path
Method analysis. It is designed for the use of students and
teachers who are studying the Critical Path Method in their
management or engineering classes; it is also for those who wish
to evaluate the CPM technique for possible use in their work or
home. "CPM" will allow easy entry of data for the critical path
network, and will provide as output a tab sheet of data entered,
a table of the activities and the associated calculated data, and
a Gantt chart of the critical path. This program avoids
complicated reports (and the associated long learning curve).
The simplicity of this program makes it easy to learn and use.
It is excellent for small to medium size projects. However, for
projects which require extensive reporting or more than 200
activities, larger (and much more expensive) packages are
          available.

"CPM" requires a 128K IBM PC, PC-DOS 1.1 or later, and one disk
drive. In addition, a printer is desirable if larger size
networks are used, since the information cannot all be displayed
on a CRT at one time.

"CPM" can handle up to 200 activities. The entire network can
have as many as 24 resources, with each activity being limited to
5 associated resources. Project durations cannot exceed 999 time
          units.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X85 - Parts Inventory Control
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parts Inventory Control (Program: 55,000 BYTES, Documentation: 160,000
BYTES)

"Parts Inventory Control" was developed for use on an IBM-PC to meet the
requirements of a small business that deals in parts and service, such
as a motorcyle dealership, an appliance store, a farm implement dealer,
a bicycle shop, or a computer store. Documentation consists of Tutorial
and a User's Guide.

The advantages of this program over other inventory programs is its'
execution speed (written in 8088 assembler), its' data compaction on
diskettes (8191 records which expand to 150 characters each), its'
emphasis on data entry (skip fields, save last used records in memory,
foreground data entry, background diskette and printer operation), its'
sort time, about 20 seconds for 5000 records, and its' search speed
(index in memory). It is menu driven, provides on line help, takes
advantage of the function keys, and, except for monthly history updates,
requires no diskette swapping.

The program provides the following options:
:OL COMPACT
:LI.Diskette option to format (five 1024 byte sectors per track)
or backup diskettes.
:LI.Record option to save supplier and manufacture names, create
default, and miscellaneous (printer, and financial) data;
enter inventory data records; or create a sorted
index (description or part number for each record).
:LI.File option to count, order (optional, can just use receive),
receive, sell, return from customer, or return to supplier.
Printed audit trail, option for estimates, allows function keys
adjust of selling price, optional sales tax.
:LI.History option to periodically save sales and financial data.
Can update daily (optional), monthly, and yearly. Edit programs
for sale and tax history diskettes. Program to calculate reorder
point and quantity.
:LI.Print option for master list, orders, under stock, over
stock, count/order, sales history, and tax information (LIFO and
FIFO). Qualified by class, supplier, dates, etc.
:LI.Utility option to transfer data to DOS format and to adjust
all selling prices, by class and manufacture.
:EOL
System requirements; IBM-PC with 256KB memory and two double sided
diskette drives, 132 column printer, 80 column display, and DOS 1.1,
2.0, or 2.1.

Diskette X86 - Kinematics Linear Programming
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

KINETICS LINEAR PROGRAMMING SYSTEM Version 1.9; April 1984

The Kinetics Linear Programming System (KLP) is a computer system
which those familiar with linear programming, (LP), can use to
solve LP problems on your personal computer.

KLP is an integrated software system which can be used to
define, solve, review and refine a linear programming
problem. While no other software is necessary, KLP can be
used in conjunction with VISICALC(tm), LOTUS 123(tm) and
SUPERCALC2(tm). The use of KLP in conjunction with
spreadsheet programs such as these is described in Section 3
        of this documentation.

KLP is designed to operate with minimum hardware as follows:

IBM PC with one disk drive
                       128K of RAM memory
                       80 column monitor
                       DOS 1.1 or 2.0
Printer with condensed print capability, (132
        columns)

Additional hardware such as a second disk drive or a hard
disk can make KLP easier to use and somewhat faster, but has
        no affect on KLP's capacity.

KLP is an integrated software system that will allow you to
solve linear programing problems of considerable complexity
with ease and speed. By selecting various commands, a
problem can be defined and optimized, matrices can be
printed or saved in files that are named as you desire and a
complete set of results can be printed, saved to disk or
written to a spreadsheet input file and read back in to your
favorite spreadsheet for further processing, fancy reports,
        etc.

Diskette X87 - Flow System Organizer
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The flow system is a progrmm for improving organization and goal
accomplishment. It includes both software and cards that request
information. The system traines the user in time management. The
complete flow system works with or without a computer. The flow
system organizes your personal and business information in such
a way that accomplishing your goals is made much easier. Goal
accomplishment becomes much more of a flow, hence the flow system.

The complete flow system consists of contact, message, project,
todo, checklist, note, and finance cards; software; and filing
containers. Information in the computer will be printed out on
6" x 4" cards. In addition having blank cards with you when not
at the computer allows you to take down details, develop new
projects, or schedule the time to do parts of the project.
You can examine your resources and draw up checklists of things
you need.

The flow system organizes all these things by projects. The
software does this automatically and allows you to view this
organization from the project selection of the main menu.

System requirements: an IBM compatible computer with 256 K RAM
and one duble sided disk drive; a printer that is compatible with
the IBM extended ASCII character set is also recommended.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X88 - SURFMODL (3 disks)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

This diskette contains the public domain SURFMODL program to do surface
modeling (also known as solids modeling) on the IBM PC and compatibles.
Surface modeling is the science of producing realistic three-dimensional
images on a computer display. This capability has existed on large
mainframe and minicomputer workstations for many years. Only recently
has it migrated to smaller computers, and the IBM PC is no exception.
I wrote SURFMODL on a Sanyo MBC-550, but it also runs on the IBM PC and
most compatibles. There are special versions of SURFMODL for the Hercules
Graphics Adapter, IBM Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA), Heath/Zenith Z100,
AT&T 6300, and the IBM 3270, as well as the standard IBM Color/Graphics
Adapter (CGA). SURFMODL requires only 256K RAM, runs amazingly fast, and
is a general-purpose surface modeler. It creates displays of three-dimen-
sional wire frame images, it removes hidden lines, and it performs surface
modeling. Since it is a generalized program, it can be used to view any
object from any angle, with single or multiple light sources.
Pascal source codes are included.

Surface modeling is often confused with solids modeling, which
encompasses surface modeling but includes much more. The pictorial
results are often equivalent, however, so the distinction is not
important if the objective is to produce spectacular graphics. To
use common solid modeling terminology, SURFMODL is a boundary
representation (B-Rep) solid modeler for flat surfaces of any number
of sides. (All surfaces are polygons of any order.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diskette X90 - LINPACK (2 disks)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Linear Equation Package (LINPACK) is a set of routines which solves
systems of linear equations and related problems. This package was
developed by the Applied Mathematics Division of Argonne National Laboratory
through funding by the National Science Foundation and Department of Energy.
The original package was developed and tested on large machines over the
years 1976 through 1979. The source included on these diskettes was taken
from a distribution disk provided by International Mathematics and
Statistical Libraries, Inc. (IMSL).

The total package will handle equations in single, double, complex and
complex double precision arithmetic. For each data type, there are two
diskettes: test driver and linpack source.

The pack contains a FORTRAN source and link file list (.LNK) for each test
set and the single precision version of the LINPACK library. The source
for these drivers can be used to study the calling sequences for the various
routines. Since each driver has been successfully tested under MS-DOS using
Microsoft FORTRAN (V3.31), it is not necessary for you to rebuild these
executable modules.

No system requirements are given.

System Requirements: WAMPUM 3.1 may be used on any IBM PC-compatible computer
running DOS 2.0 or higher with a hard disk. For multi-user
network applications, DOS 3.1 or higher is required on every
computer as well as an IBM NetBIOS-compatible network. For
performance reasons, an 80286 or 80386 processor is desirable.
Minimum memory requirement is 320K above and beyond the memory
requirements of DOS and any memory-resident programs in use.
Minimum memory is 420K (with DOS 3.1) to link to REPORT and LABEL
programs from within WAMPUM. Without much in the way of
memory-resident software, WAMPUM typically needs 512K to operate
satisfactorily after loading DOS. WAMPUM will run on either a
monochrome or color display. In the case of certain compatibles
such as Compaq, WAMPUM should be run in forced monochrome mode by
              issuing the command WAMPUM MONO.

Diskette X92 - Crossword
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CROSSWORD CREATOR was designed primarily for educators, but can
be used by anyone who enjoys designing or solving crossword puzzles. It
provides the tools needed to lay out a crossword puzzle on the computer's
screen, define a short clue for each word in the puzzle, and save the
puzzle to disk so it may be used again and again.

In addition to the design features, CWC has a "solve" mode where anyone
can work with a pre-defined puzzle. CWC shows the layout of the completed
puzzle, but does not display the letters themselves. By viewing the clues
for each word and supplying the proper letters, the puzzle can be solved in
exactly the same way as a traditional crossword.

System Requirements: 256K of memory and one floppy drive, printer is
optional.

Diskette X93 - Hercules Utilities (2 disks)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Hercules Utilities disks are a set of usefull utilities for Hercules users.
There are a lot of goodies; for example:

-- Graphics Routines Version 1.1.0
These routines provide simple graphics support for both the Hercules Graphics
Card and the IBM Color Graphics Adaptor. The type of adaptor is determined at
run-time, so you don't have to have two versions of your program.
Procedures are provided to draw text on the screen. The ConOutPtr is used
so that you can use Write and WriteLn to write text to the screen. GotoXY,
WhereX, WhereY, ClrScr, and ClrEol are trapped and handled. These routines
use the Window level interface to draw the characters in the current window.
Currently text does not scroll in the window.

-- HVIEW
allows you to display the contents of a file on your Hercules (or
compatible) monochrome graphics card. The program uses the very high
graphics mode resolution of the card to give a 180 x 43 character display.
Since very few files use all 180 columns, the screen is split vertically
into two 90 x 43 panels. After one screenful is displayed, you can type
Ctrl-break or Ctrl-C to stop the program or press any other key to continue
displaying the file.

-- HERCULES.PRG is a memo from Bob Morse and a note from me
explaining the programming parameters for the Hercules (and
clone) graphics board. His information is especially useful
because he lists the internal parameters which must be
programmed into the 6845 chip to get graphics mode to work
correctly. Please report any problems with this information to
me at DECWET::BROWN or Bob at LEWS2::MORSE.

and-stay-resident program which takes over some functions from
ROM BIOS INT 10h, providing IBM-compatible graphics modes 6 (640
by 200) and 7 (monochrome text) and adding mode 8: Hercules
graphics (720 by 348). Other functions are just passed through
    to the existing ROM BIOS.

-- HERCBIOS was written by Dave Tutelman at AT&T in New Jersey, and
the software came to me via net.micro.pc, hot off the wire two
days ago. I've included his note and banner as HERCBIOS.AUT.

-- HERC.COM
The design of the Hercules Graphics card does not provide any way for
software to determine whether it is currently in graphics mode. Because of
this, after bringing SideKick up the screen is always left in the text mode.
After running HERC.COM, typing ALT-left shift-G will turn Hercules Graphics
mode on. ALT-left shift-T will turn it off (turn text mode on). After
leaving SK, if the screen is left all garbled, type ALT-left shift-G to fix
it! If G doesn't do the job, try ALT-ls-H, which turns on the Hercules card's
second graphics page. AutoCAD uses this, as many other programs probably do.
Version 1.1 will not load if it is already installed in your machine.
HERC should be run before SideKick, so that SideKick can be killed by typing
CTRL-Home CTRL-End from its main menu.

-- HERCULES GRAPHICS C FUNCTION (AND THEN SOME) LIBRARY
This is a preliminary hodgepodge of 'C' callable Hercules graphics
functions, some of which are written in Micro-Soft Macro assembler and
optimized for speed of execution. About the only tool that is missing from
the basic set is a text character font and display function.
If you have the Micro-Soft Ver 3.0 'C' Compiler then your library is
allready built. Otherwise, all the source code is in the ARC so you can
examine, modify, and build your library to be compatible with your
compiler. You Latice, I86, and others get no sympathy from me on this
score as I've been in the same boat myself. Most of the time there is no

-- EGA720.ASM
A Hercules-compatible resident driver for EGA cards

-- CS.COM
The CS and CSS are used to make your Hercules card simulate a Color
Graphic Adaptor. After executing these commands, you can run some of
the programs written for running with CGA. MONO is used to resume the
normal monochrome mode.
CS and CSS are essentially identical. However, it is recommanded that
you first try CS, and if this does not do the job, then try CSS.
The reason is that CSS puts a small resident code in the memory which
would intercept any attempt to set the display mode to below mode 4
(via INT 10H), while some program, e.g. those that were extracted
directly from a boot-to-run program disk, would not run properly when
there are resident codes in the memory.

that learning by doing is more efficient than learning by reading. In a few
minutes You should have produced your first graph.

-- TURBO C TUTORIAL will teach an individual the basic structure of the C
language. TURBO C is not really a beginners language so the author assumes
you are familiar with other programing languages. The tutorial starts out
explaining the C language and by the time you have completed the lesson you
should be very familiar with TURBO C.

System Requirements: 128K of memory and a printer.

-- MODULA-2 TUTORIAL will teach you the fundamentals of this complex
language and get you up and programing by the end of it. This tutorial is
very well put together and the author covers every aspect of the language.
The first part of this tutorial is composed of those features that are
common to PASCAL and MODUAL-2 and are also of a fundamental nature. You
will need to study all of Part I in order to write meaningful MODULA-2
programs. If you are already a fairly experienced PASCAL programmer, you
will absorb this material very quickly. Be sure to go through it all at
least once because there are many small differences between the languages
that you must consider.

Diskette X97 - EGA Utilities (2 disks)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The EGA Utilities disks are a set of usefull utilities for EGA users.
There are a lot of goodies; for example:

-- Ansiega
The IBM EGA is capable of a 43 lines per screen mode when used in
conjunction with the Enhanced Color Display or the Monochrome Display.
However, ANSI.SYS will not handle scrolling properly in this mode.
Here are some patches to ANSI.SYS (DOS Version 3.1) that I have
discovered to fix the problem

-- EGA experiences
A lot of newsletters with usefull tips and tricks.

-- EGACAM.COM
is a memory-resident screen image capture program. To use it,
you must first install it. The program can be invoked by pressing the
Hot-key "shutter" Alt-PrtSc. This operation will take the contents of the
currently active screen buffer and write it in a file. The contents of the
mode and color registers will also be saved so that the image will be
displayed with the settings in effect when its picture was taken. Screen
image information will be stored in a compressed mode. This is true for
    text and graphic modes.

-- Epson
This routine is for public domain for those of you who bought an
EGA and enhanced monitor and determined that you could no longer
do a Shf_Prt_Scn in mode 10h (16). If you have an IBM compatible
and an Epson FX series printer then this routine will replace the
Graphics.com routine. I also have routines for Radio Shack DMP
printers with 8 pins (but only 7 usable for graphics) and for HP
LaserJet printers when used with an EGA. Enjoy...

-- FB8x14B
This program is yet another EGA font. It must be run AFTER NEWFONT on
this disk since it uses the area set up by NEWFONT. Just more options
for your eyes.

-- Font32
The FONT32 program produces a new font for EGA displays. It is not as
thin as the NEWFONT EGA font. Just run the program as compare the results.

-- KC-PAL
The program, KC-PAL, gives the user the ability to changes the
EGA's color palettes through a fancy form screen.

-- KC-SetPAL
The program, KCSETPAL.COM, gives an user the ability to change
the EGA's color palettes without going through the fancy KC-PAL
program. It is designed to be used in autoexec or other batch
files. Anytime that KC-PAL is used and the setting of palettes
are different from their default state, KC-PAL will display a
message giving the parameters for KCSETPAL. These parameters
can now be used with KCSETPAL in a batch file.

-- Pallette
Pallette.com is just a quickie to let you play with the color pallette
with the Enhanced Display (5154). Put something colorful on the screen,
then invoke the program. Press '0'..'9' ':'..'?' to select pallette
registers 0..15, then use 'r', 'g', 'b' to vary the amount of each color
in the mix (cycles thru black, dim, normal, bright). Any other key
should take you back to DOS. The new pallette will be used until you use
"mode color" or the like. This has hardly been used, so no guarantees.

-- PALSET
Palset is a program which sets up all seventeen palettes on the enhanced
color card ( Enhanced Graphics Adapter), to my knowledge it uses DOS functions
properly as Underground discussion suggests will be recommended by IBM
Corporation when it sees fit in its Corporate Wisdom to release documentation.

-- Pushpop
These programs are useful in BAT files. PUSHDIR saves the current
directory information. Then you can move to another directory and do work.
Then POPDIR will move you back to your original directory. You can save up
to six directories at a time (source can be modified to give you more).

-- RAX
RAX.EXE 3 Dimensional EGA Demonstration (128K EGA required)
This program demonstrates both 3 dimensional rotation and dithering of 4096
colors for the Enhanced Graphics adaptor.

-- Response
RESPONSE.COM - SET ERRORLEVEL FOR INTERCATIVE BATCH FILES
THIS IS A FAIRLY SIMPLE PROGRAM IN CONCEPT: IT SETS THE ERRORLEVEL
CODE FOR BATCH FILES BASED ON THE USER'S INPUT. ALSO, IT WILL NOT
ACCEPT ANYTHING BUT A CORRECT RESPONSE CHARACTER, HELPING FUMBLE-
FINGERED PEOPLE LIKE THE AUTHOR (GLEN MARSHALL). ENJOY!

-- Roses
ROSES.EXE: Pleasant patterns & soothing sights. Requires an EGA card...

-- Set##
SET25.COM and SET43.COM
FOR THE EGA MONTIOR AND ADAPTER BOARD ONLY
SET43 puts the monitor into the 43 line per screen mode.
SET25 puts the monitor back into the 25 line mode.
See the file ANSIEGA.DOC for patches to DOS 3.1 to use
DOS in the 43-line mode.
See the file SMALL.DOC to patch WordStar for 43-line mode.

-- SETVID.COM
setvid is a resident program used to force the EGA into 4 color graphics
mode. it is activated by hitting the ALT key and the right hand SHIFT key
at the same time.
A good example of where to use setvid is in the public domain game striker.
when striker switches to graphics mode it accesses the video registers
directly, since the EGA is not totally compatable with the old CGA you get
garbage. to solve this problem you would run setvid then striker,
then when the screen gets messed up you would hit ALT-right SHIFT

-- Small
PATCH FOR WORDSTAR 3.3 to display 48 lines on the EGA/ECD

-- STYPE >>>> REQUIRES IBM ENHANCED GRAPHICS ADAPTOR <<<<
STYPE types a file to the screen controlled by an IBM Enhanced Graphics
Adaptor, using variable speed smooth scroll. If no file name is supplied, it
will read from standard in (eg: STYPE < FILENAME, or PROGRAM | STYPE), and
thus can act as a "MORE" type filter. The EGA must be in 25 line character
mode. The EGA must be the current console device; this requirement is new with
this version. It can be emulating either the IBM Monochrome Display and Printer
Adaptor or the IBM Color/Graphics Monitor Adaptor, or it can be in the new
Enhanced Color Mode (25 lines, character rows 14 pels high).

-- LC
A lot of Lattice C Routines for EGA-handling

-- NANSI enhanced MS-DOS ansi console driver
Nansi.sys is a console driver which understands ANSI control sequences.
It has several advantages over ANSI.SYS (the driver supplied with DOS):
	1. It supports new escape sequences (see below).
	2. It provides MUCH faster output under certain conditions.
	3. It supports the 43-line mode of the EGA.
	4. The darned bell is now 1/4 second instead of 1/2 second long.

-- PALS
PALS.COM is a utility program allowing an easy selection of the
palette color values for the EGA. There is a fair number of
similar programs available on the IBMHW and IBMSW; most of them
require color numbers to be associated with each palette. I
found it rather difficult to associate 64 values with the
corresponding colors. So, after Mark Horvatich made his
NEWFNT.COM system available in its last version (8-12-86), I
decided to take advantage of the easy access to resident palette
array available through it.
PALS.COM does not even display the color numbers since you
really do not need to know them. Your EGA palette is modified
in the NEWFNT.COM resident space. If you want to preserve it
for the future, you can save it on an executable file MYPAL.COM
which can be invoked (after NEWFNT.COM has been loaded) from an
autoxec.bat file if it represents your favorite color
configuration. A sample MYPAL.COM file is included in this
archive; it represents my current favorite of black on gray.

-- View: view a text file
A text editor without any editing functions. Very quick; useful
for looking at text files, especially C programs.

-- NewFNT
The programs in NEWFNT.ARC will provide owners of most EGA systems a new set
of text fonts in both 25 and 43 line modes. In addition, they make it a simple
task to switch between the ROM-based 8x14 font and the two new fonts. Included
with the NEWFONT system are alternate font-switching programs to use with the
NANSI.SYS console driver. The NEWFONT system also provides a simple method for
users to load the EGA pallette registers, and make them resident throughout
almost every application program.
There are seven programs in the NEWFONT system. The main program, NEWFNT.COM,
loads the NEWFONT system, selects a new 8x14 text font, and loads the EGA
pallette registers with pre-set values.

Diskette X98 - Recovery TOOLS (3 disks)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Recovery TOOLS disks are a set of usefull utilities Computer users.
There are a lot of goodies; for example:

-- experiences
A lot of newsletters with usefull tips and tricks.

-- DBACK.COM
Because unerasing on a hard disk is a delicate procedure
(the FAT and part of the directory must be rewritten to disk), I
have included in this ARC DBACK.COM, which will back up the FAT
and root directory of a (hard) disk on another (floppy) disk, and
restore it in case catastrophe strikes. DBACK makes a read-only
file called DBACK.DRx (x = backed up drive) in the root directory
of the backup drive. For extra security, run DBACK before
unerasing; since the backup file is written on another disk it
won't disturb the unerase procedure.
DBACK is also useful for general disk security purposes,
especially for assembly-language programmers who are often a
keystroke or two away from trashing their disk.

-- DUMP -- File Examination Utility
DUMP performs a classic "dump" on a file, reading it byte by byte, and
printing the values of the bytes in both hexadecimal and ASCII forms.
This type of utility is common on many mainframe computers, and is useful
in many debugging tasks. DUMP allows you to examine the contents of a file.
You can also search for data within a file, as well as modify the file's
contents.

-- Fatstuff
The two utilities in this library perform functions that list the
contents of the disk's file allocation table.

-- Resq
RESQ is a utility which allows recovery of text otherwise lost in
the computer. RESQ saves buffered text, left in your computer's
RAM before it was written to disk. If you've ever lost hard-won
text due to a word-processing glitch, or forgotten to save that
text file you just downloaded, or had to use the fire exit while
testing a new program, or given the wrong answer to "Abandon
current version?", you can use RESQ.
*> dynamically finds the limits of computer memory
*> hunts between those limits for a text phrase you supply
*> shows you the text in the area of the new-found phrase
*> asks "Is this your text?"
*> if you agree, finds the beginning of the text
*> simultaneously shows and saves the text in RES.Q
*> closes the rescued file when you hit any key, or
*> when it finds the end-of-file character (^Z)

-- Snoop
SNOOP is a small appendage to DOS that will display the
values of the code segment register and the program counter
in the upper right corner of the screen as a program
executes. This is useful for monitoring where a program
spends most of its time. The values are sampled and
displayed together every few milliseconds.

-- Unerase
UNERASE should work on any disk up to 20 megs, or 30 if it
has fewer than 12,800 blocks, which would be the case with a 4K
block size. (Since this is merely a question of buffer size, it
would be easy to change.) In case your deleted file is a text
file, you have the option of viewing the doubtful blocks (those
after the first) before accepting them back in the file.

-- VFAT: Program to view FAT of a device
You can scroll up or down thru a dir list to see where the segments of a
file are located.
Reverse will allow you to point out a segment and Where will then tell
all the information about the file involved.

-- FM
FM (for File Modify) is a little utility which allows you to
easily edit files at the individual byte level. It is especially
useful in situations where one might use DEBUG to modify a byte in
order to patch a program, to change the wording of messages in your
programs which bother you (its search capabilities are useful for
this) or to change color attributes in a program.
Fm displays the file in "sectors" of 256 bytes each in 16
lines with 16 bytes per line. The line below the main display
shows the file name, its date and time of creation or last update
and the word HEX or ASCII indicating which part of the main display
is active. The <TAB> key toggles which is the active display and
in addition to status line the active display is indicated by the
block cursor. Modifications are made on the active display as will
be explained.

-- SNATCH-IT: The COPY-II PC utility program
SNATCH-IT provides you with three very powerful
advantages over just using COPY-II PC. First (and most
important), any disk that can be copied by COPY-II PC,
can be converted into a DOS file, where it can be sent
via a modem or copied easily using DOS' copy command.
Protected disks no longer have to be "cracked" in order
to send them over the phone! The second advantage is
that you can free up many of your floppy disks dedicated
just to a single program. Now those programs can be
stored on your hard disk, where they can be ARChived to
save space. The third advantage is when the entire
program being copied fits into memory at one time, you
can repeatably write target disks or files WITHOUT
having to re-read the source everytime.
  Requirements: DOS 2.0 or higher
PC, PC-XT, PC-AT, (and some compatibles.)
		1 diskette drive
196k bytes of system memory with 140k bytes free.
COPY-II PC (designed for versions 1.7 to 3.02+. It has
only been tested up to 3.02, but there is
no reason to believe it won't work on new
			    releases.)

-- Timer: By now, few bulletin boards maintain all of their files in
executable form. Downloading something like EPISTAT with 15
or 20 files or LADYBUG with about 30 would be a nightmare.
Timer will help you to abreviate this process down to the
         1/100th.

-- Viewdisk: A utility program to examine the sectors of your disk
drives for the IBM PC and 100 % compatible computers.
"View Disk" is a utility program that allows you to select individual
disk sectors and display them on your screen. I you are curious about
what is in the hidden files of your disk or how to hide files of your own,
you will probably find this program useful. "View Disk" is written in
a combination of "C" and Assembly languages for speed and machine control.
In order to run "View Disk" it is necessary to have an IBM PC or 100 percent
compatible computer. This program requires only 64k ram and one disk drive
running DOS 2.0. A printer is optional for the screen dumps. This program
makes extensive use of the BIOS routines do to the lack of control supplied
by DOS. Unfortunately, this extensive use of the BIOS may limit the programs
portability.

-- XRAY.COM, the PC Background Monitor
XRAY is a tool that allows you to monitor areas of your computer's
memory while other programs are running. These other programs can
	be COMMAND.COM, for those interested in some aspect of that program;
your own resident programs; or some .COM or .EXE application. XRAY
gives you, on a real-time basis, the ability to watch memory variables
	or your stack change dynamically.

-- P A T T R I B U T E
PATTR sets DOS attributes for the files or filename wildcards
you specify. Use it to set or reset archive status on files or
to protect/unprotect files with the readonly attribute.
PATTR's file selection parameters provide you with numerous
options for specifying the files to be deleted. You may select by
directory, file, date, attribute, size, and even starting and
      ending filename.
PATTR allows several command parameter switches to be specified
to customize the process. All these parameters are optional.
The command format and switch parameters are described below. A
quick review of command parameters is always available by
entering the PDEL command with no parameters.

-- Ultra ---> The Ultra Utilities <--- "The Wizard's Apprentice"
The Ultra-Utilities are a powerful collection of programs that will
allow you complete access to the power of your IBM-PC's disk drive
controller circuitry and PC-DOS disk operating system. With this
power also comes the abilty to do terrible damage to your diskettes
if you make a mistake at the wrong time.

          Features of the Ultra-Utilities
          -------------------------------
          1) The Ultra-Utilties use a special input procedure that allows you
to only enter in characters appropriate to the question being
asked. In most cases, a number of small boxes will appear next to
a question. These boxes tell you that the program is waiting for
your response, as well as the maximum number of characters you may
type to answer the question. If no boxes are displayed, a single
key press is all that's needed, and it is not necessary to press
             the <ENTER> key afterwards.

          2) Although the Ultra-Utilities will display numeric values in the
format specified by the display radix, you can input numbers using
any of three allowable radices without regard for the display
radix. Decimal numbers should be entered normally, without any
          (2)
prefix. Octal numbers should be entered using the prefix &O, and
hexadecimal numbers should be entered using the prefix &H. This
is in keeping with the standard numeric entry procedures of IBM
BASIC. Example: the decimal number 17 could be entered as:
                                17 (decimal)
                              &H11 (hexadecimal)
                              &O21 (octal)

          3) If you have a lineprinter installed and selected, you can obtain
a hardcopy of the screen at any point by pressing the "PrtSc" key
while holding down the <SHIFT> key. This is also in keeping with
             BASIC operation.

          4) The Ultra-Utilities are completely menu-driven. This means you'll
never have to guess which cryptic command the computer is waiting
for: all of your available options are displayed on the screen.
Although some folks prefer non-menu-driven programs, we feel it is
a necessary deterrent to possibly catastrophic mistakes made by
the wrong guess with these programs.

          5) Ultra-Zap will allow you to display and modify sectors of any
length or name (such as those used in copy-protected software).
Although this is by no means meant to be a "pirate" program, it
is of great educational use for the novice "zapper". It can be
used in conjunction with Ultra-Format to create your own copy-
             protected diskettes.

          6) IN MOST CASES, answering a prompt with the single letter "Q"
followed by the <ENTER> key will CANCEL THE CURRENT FUNCTION and
RETURN YOU BACK to the main menu.

Diskette X99 - Familienforschung (2 disks)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Notes on Display program is for anyone considering the task of
tracing their own or someone else's lineage into the past. As any-
one who has undertaken this work has found out, the effort involved
in keeping track of the huge amount of data accumulated, is over-
powering. This nifty program does that for the researcher with
practically no effort at all. The investigator merely enters a
record for each find made into the database with a short note des-
cribing the find to clarify matters in the future. To aid in the
process, the user will enter some relevant facts, such as, the
person to whom this find relates, the source of the find (i.e. city
state, church, etc.), the type of find (birth record, grave
stone, etc.) and the date is usually helpful. After a short while
a huge database will have been built with facts relating to many
of the people in the past. Now this information can be viewed in
some order and be made sense of. You may view a selected person,
source or even type from the database. This data will be presented
either on the screen or via the printed page. I think anyone doing
this type of work will find this program a breeze to use and help
in the reseach. Requires a minimum of 320K RAM. A printer and
two floppy disk drives would be nice.
