This is a compilation of background bitmap textures taken from the
Macintosh. I recently saw a program on the mac called Textures Installer
(not to be confused with TeX) which contained approx. 100 small bitmap
clips, which when tiled created very nice backgrounds.

I copied them to the clipboard, pasted them into Photoshop, and saved them
as OS/2 bitmaps. Most of these bitmaps were 24 bit, and I did not try to
dither them down in any way. What you see is what I saw on the Mac screen.

You will likely see a few which do not look too good, simply because when
OS.2 dithers them down to 8 bit, too many colors are lost, but most of
them looked quite good on my 256 color system at home.

If I can find some more, I will convert them as well. Actually, I would
like to convert some of the ICON compilations as well, but this will have
to be later.
