positioning capability and customization options are designed to boost your
performance, helping you work easily, quickly, and intuitively.

When you install the tablet for OS/2, all of your applications for OS/2
are taken care of at the same time. You do not have to install or setup
the tablet for each application.

ACECAD Pen Device to customize your tablet settings and you can not
use the ACECAD Tablet Control Panel.

Once you install the tablet for OS/2, you only can use the ACECAD
Tablet Control Panel to customize your tablet settings and you can
        not use ACECAD Pen Device.

Customizing the Tablet in OS/2
==============================

For increased comfort and ease of use, you can use the Tablet Control
Panel to adjust the size of the tracking area on the tablet. For example,
you can set a 3"x2" area on the tablet to correspond to the entire OS/2
screen, making menu picking as easy as a flick of the wrist.

You may also use the Tablet Control Panel to customize the button
assignments such as button 1 click, button 1 double click, button 2 click,
...and so on. With the Tablet Control Panel, you can also select the Aspect
Ratio function to ensure perfect one to one synchronization between your
tablet and your monitor screen. This function is especially important for
graphics applications where precise rendering is required.

To customize the tablet settings, choose the ACECAD Tablet Control Panel
icon on the OS/2 desktop. The ACECAD Tablet Control Panel dialog box
appears.

In this dialog box, you can see the background information for the tablet.
The options in the ACECAD Tablet Control Panel dialog box are described
as follows;

1) Button Assignments
---------------------

You must select the proper type of pointing device which you have connected
with the tablet for proper button number and button assignments. From
drop-down list box, select the tablet's pointing device such as 3-button
stylus-pen which you have connected with the tablet.

When the Default option is selected, from the drop-down list box in this
Button Assignments option, you can see the default button assignments
for the tablet's pointing device you chose. You also can clear the Default
Button Assignment check box and use this option to redefine the button
assignments such as button 1 click, button 1 double click, button 2 click,
...and so on.

2) Tracking Area
-----------------

The default tracking area is the whole 5"x5" active area contained by
the recessed area covered by the transparent overlay sheet.

The position of the tablet's pointing device on the tracking area corresponds
directly to the screen position. If you are using the tablet primarily for
menu picking and pointer movement, you may wish to reduce the size of the
tracking area. With a smaller tracking area, you can move the screen pointer
from one corner of the OS/2 screen to the other within a short distance on
the tablet, thus substantially increasing your speed and ease of operation.
Your tablet's pointing device will respond only within the new tracking area
on the tablet, not the full area covered by the overlay.

To specify a new tracking area:

1. Clear the Using Whole Tablet check box.

2. Click the Set Area button. The screen pointer changes to a cross
within the active area rectangle in the lower-left corner of the
        dialog box.

Click two points to specify the new tracking area you want to use.

        Or

Type the values in the Size and Margin text boxes in the lower-
middle section of this dialogue box.

        Or

Click the Up or Down scroll arrow next to each of the Size and
Margin text boxes to adjust the size and position of the tracking area.

3. If you need to preserve the aspect ratio of the new tracking area
to the area on your screen, click the Preserve Aspect Ratio button.

Note! For tracing or precise drawing, you will probably want to preserve
the aspect ratio. For selecting menu options or simple pointer
movements, this setting is not required.

3) Command Button
-----------------

OK - Close the dialog box and carry out the changes you made.

Cancel - Close the dialog box and cancel any changes you made.

Test - Test and try to use the new settings.

Revert - Undo any changes you made.

OS/2 Troubleshooting Solutions
==============================

Problem: You have not used any mouse with OS/2. After installing the
tablet for OS/2, the tablet does not work with OS/2.
Solution: Use the selective installation to install any mouse driver.
Then reinstall the tablet for OS/2. Of course, you do not
need to connect a mouse to your computer.

Problem: You have installed the tablet and a mouse (or trackball)
used together with OS/2. When you do not want to use the
mouse (or trackball) or disconnect the mouse (or trackball)
with your computer, the tablet does not work with OS/2.
Solution: You need to reinstall the tablet for OS/2. But you can not
remove the mouse driver from the selective installation of
                OS/2.

Problem: You have installed the tablet only with OS/2. When you want
to use the mouse (or trackball) and the tablet with OS/2,
the tablet does not work with OS/2.
Solution: You need to reinstall the tablet for OS/2.

Problem: The system pointer responds to the tablet's pointing device
(stylus-pen or cursor-puck) movements sometimes, but not always.
Solution: Check to see if the tracking area is set for using the whole
tablet within the transparent overlay. The tracking area is
defined through the ACECAD Tablet Control Panel.

Problem: Double-clicking is difficult to work.
Solution: Open Mouse object from System Setup. Make sure that the
double-click speed in the Mouse-Settings is not set too fast.

Problem: The system pointer is not sensitive enough to pointing
                device motion.
Solution: You may adjust the response speed by adjusting the size of
the tracking area. The tracking area is defined through the
                ACECAD Tablet Control Panel.

Problem: Some buttons of stylus-pen or cursor-puck do not work.
Solution: Open the ACECAD Tablet Control Panel. Make sure you selected
the proper type of the pointing device.

Problem: When drawing on the tablet, the image on the screen appears
                stretched.
Solution: Open the ACECAD Tablet Control Panel. Click the Preserve
                Aspect Ratio button.
