ObjectSpy for OS/2 Warp Ver. 1.0

ObjectSpy is a development tool that provides you the programmer/user
with detailed information about the Workplace Shell environment and the
means to manipulate the contents and behavior of any object on your desktop.
ObjectSpy has two main functions, one to examine and manipulate any object
which is dropped on it, and the second to provide system/class information and
  utilities.
- The first main function provides details about any desktop object which is
dropped onto ObjectSpy. Its place in WPS class hierarchy is presented
together with information such as object id, location, dll name, object class
and much more. You can open default, settings and help views for the object
from with ObjectSpy as needed. All 10 style attributes are made available
to allow customization of the objects behavior. With ObjectSpy you can construct
and apply custom setup strings simply by clicking on the keynames and values
or entering them manually. ObjectSpy provides a list of every method know to
a given object and its signature, in addition to its class' interface definition
and extended attributes, and so much more...
- The second main function of ObjectSpy provides information about system resources
and WPS class hierarchy; it correctly displays the existing Workplace Shell
classes and replacement classes ( unlike the toolkit class browser which fails
to display any classes below the replaced class).
With ObjectSpy, you can add, replace, delete, and unreplace classes with ease
and create instances of any class with the click of a button.
Workplace Shell developers/users will appreciate the command script facility
which allows you to create script files that assist in turning around your
changes in a automated fashion. In other words, you can create a script that
will unregister your existing class, delete the class, copy the new dll to
your libpath, register class and even create a new instance!
All with the push of a button. It's all so easy.
One of the powerful features that every Workplace Shell programmer will not
be able to live without is the ability to look at any Workplace Shell class
implementation. This will provide you with the function prototype of every
method defined in a given class.
A great deal of information about your system is presented in four notebook
pages which includes details about every drive on your system (down to the
number of bytes per sector) to a list of all the character and pseudocharacter
devices through to printer details. All in one easy to access notebook.
ObjectSpy even comes with a complete INI file editor, that allowsyou to add or remove application and key names, view and/or edit key data in either ASCII or HEX. Any OS/2 INI file can be processed using ObjectSpy
