This directory contains "gema", the general-purpose macro processor. The files here are: README.text The file you are now reading. Summary.text Summary description of what "gema" is. exe.zip Executable program for MS-DOS; unpack with PKUNZIP. (Also works on Windows/NT.) gema-SPARC-SunOS.gz Executable program for a SPARCstation with SunOS 4. gema.tar.gz The complete source directory, including code (in ANSI C), documentation, and examples. Uncompress with "gunzip", then unpack with "tar" and see the "README" file there for further instructions. html.tar.gz Compressed tar file with the contents of the WWW directory at: http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/gema/ (These files can also be re-created from the source directory.) postscript.tar.gz Documentation in PostScript format. (Instead of downloading them, you can re-create these files yourself from the source files if you have LaTeX, "dvi2ps", and "ptroff".) The source directory includes example macro definitions for converting documents from LaTeX and "nroff -man" format to HTML. (these were actually used to generate the WWW files.) This is now version 1.1. Compared to 1.0, it fixes a few obscure bugs and enhances the MS-DOS version to expand command line wild cards for input files. "gema" is not a commercial product; it has been donated to the public domain in order to maximize its usefulness. David N. Gray e-mail: DGray@acm.org May 22, 1995
