The current version of SNNS is now version 4.1. It is the only
supported one. But we keep the former version 4.0 still available. The
files dealing with version 4.1 are:

SNNSv4.1.tar.gz
SNNSv4.1.tar.Z                  the complete sources of the simulator,
                                tarred and compressed, i.e. gzipped.

SNNSv4.1.tar.gz.aa ..
SNNSv4.1.tar.gz.ae		the complete sources of the simulator,
                                tarred, gzipped and split into five pieces 
				for flaky ftp connections.

SNNSv4.1.Implem.ps.gz           a compressed, i.e. gzipped, postscript
                                document of the implementation manual. 
				It has not changed since the last version.

SNNSv4.1.Manual.Extensions.ps.gz a compressed, i.e. gzipped, postscript
                                document of the new chapters of the
                                user manual. It is supported for those
                                users that have just printed the Manual 
                                of version 4.0 and do not need most of
                                the manual. We encourage everybody to 
                                use the complete manual.

SNNSv4.1.Manual.part15.ps.gz    The complete user manual split up in 15
                                seperate postscript files, each less than 
                                1MB in size when uncompressed.

                                the user manual for those who like to

				This is a full-functional X-Server Demo

				run SNNS.

Version 4.1 also includes the hook-ups for the genetic algorithm tool
enzo, developped by the University of Karlsruhe. This tool allows the
evolutionary optimization of neural networks. The tool and its
documentation is also located on this ftp-server. The corresponding
