Hallo, we now have a SNNS version for Windows 95/NT. Gerd Balzuweit (gerd.balzuweit@gmx.net) did a great job porting SNNS to Windows. The Win32 version of SNNS uses the GNU Win32 X11R6.3 libraries and was compiled with the Cygnus GNU Win32 C compiler. You need a X-Server for MS-Windows to run SNNS-Win32. I placed the Micro X-Win32 X-Server demo from Starnet in the SNNSv4.1 Win32 directory. Micro X-Win32 is a fully functional commercial X-Window server demo. If you like it, buy it. You can run only one demo server in a subnet or have a 2 hour time limit. The X-Window interface of SNNS Win32 is possibly slower then the UNIX version, but fast enought to work with. Use 16-bit or more color depth if possible. To install SNNS Win32, unpack it (using pkzip or WinZip), install the X-Server, configure and start the X-Server. Run snns.bat to start SNNS. INSTALLATION: To run SNNS Win32 install the package SNNSv4.1-win32-full.zip *and* the X-Window server. Install, enable and *configure* TCP/IP support of Windows95/NT. SNNS Win32 doesn't work without TCP/IP installed and fully configured. Happy training, Niels Mache PS. We have another Neural Network simulator (Neuralogic Windows) for feed forward and Multi-State Time-Delay neural networks. Neuralocic has a MS-Windows GUI. The kernel runs on UNIX and MS-Windows and is very fast. SNNSv4.1-win32-src.exe SNNSv4.1 source code. Self extracting archive. SNNSv4.1-win32-src.zip SNNSv4.1 source code. Zip archive. X-Server/ Micro X-Win32 X-Server Demo from Starnet. This is a full-functional X-Server Demo for Windows95/NT. A X-Server is required to run SNNS Win32. The pre-compiled Win32 X11R6.3 libraries can be obtained from: ftp://niteroi.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/win32/X11R6.3/Win32_X11R6_3.tar.gz For additional information about the GNU Win32 compiler, please consult: http://www.cygnus.com/gnu-win32/ X SERVER (see also README.X11): A freeware X server can be obtained from MicroImages: http://tnt.microimages.com/www/html/freestuf/mix.htm This server is somewhat limited as it does not fully support the Athena widgets (menu items when selected become invisible!). There is a fully functional demo (2 hour limit) from Startnet which is somehwat nicer: http://www.starnet.com/xwin32.html For a comprehensive list of other commercially available X servers consult Kenton Lee's page: http://www.rahul.net/kenton/xsites.html
