E*presso is a collection of basic tools designed to simplify the task of constructing servicable applications and applets using Sun's Java (TM) programming language. E*presso builds on the Sun-supplied Java API with a graphically-oriented interface to useful facilities. E*presso works with the beta2 release of Java, and has been tested under Solaris 2.4 and Windows '95.
E*presso is bundled with the dejava tools from PFU Limited (a Fujistu affiliate company). We strongly suggest using both sets of tools since each neatly complements the other, together forming a fairly complete programming environment. The environment is inspired by the Smalltalk programming environment but tailored to specifically support programming in Java.
