INDEX OF INDEXES This file lists all Disney comics indexes we know of. In the section "used" is mentioned which part of the index is used in the Disney comics Database (DcD). The section "not used" is an indication why one would want a copy of the index, even when one has the DcD. Swedish data delivered by Andreas Eldh. Harry Fluks, August 1997. At the moment this information is not structured yet. -- start -- General informations about Disney Comics that can not be put in a structured way in the Disney Comics Database (Gathered by François Willot, August 1997) The following informations are from Alberto Becattini: USA The writers of the L'il Bad Wolf stories published in WDC&S in 1956-57 were Carl Fallberg, Nick George and Vic Lockman (according to an article published in WDC 602). And from vol. 2 of the Disney Index: - Gil Turner wrote some of the L'il Bad Wolf stories he drew (those published between 1947 and 1957 in WDC&S ). - Most of the Hiawatha stories published in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories (issues 143 to 168) were written by Del Connell. - Most titles in "Cheerios Premiums" (Premiums published in the USA) were written by Chase Craig. DENMARK Victor A. Rios did not ink himself. He has two assistant inkers (according to a 1990 interview with him). Daniel Branca has been doing pencils only since 1993-1994. He has one assistant inker, but he did ink everything before 1993 or so (according to an article published in a Gladstone comic). ITALY Among Italian artists that are currently doing their own inking there are: Guido Scala, Giovan Battista Carpi, Massimo De Vita, Romano Scarpa (in part), Fabio Celoni, Silvia Ziche, Francesco Guerrini, Alberto Lavoradori, Claudio Sciarrone, Paolo Mottura, Luciano Bottaro, Giampiero Ubezio, Roberto Marini, Stefano Intini, Gino Esposito, Salvatore Deiana, Andrea Freccero, Corrado Mastantuono. Among those who do not ink there are: Giorgio Cavazzano (Sandro Zemolin inks), Luciano Gatto (Roberto Gatto inks), Maria Luisa Uggetti (Tiberio Colantuoni inks), Franco Valussi (Massimiliano Calò inks). "STUDIO" Rubén N. Torreiro from Jaime Diaz is possibly the inker of the Adolf Urtiága and Annibal Uzál "Mickey and the sleuth" Disney studio stories. Informations from John Clark (in an index published in MM 255): USA According to writer Carl Fallberg, many of the Mickey Mouse serials published in WDC&S (issues 123 to 394) that are not credited to someone in the DcD may in fact have been written by Don Christensen --x-- Informations from Francois Willot (with thanks to Jean-Luc Cochet and Philippe Marcilly): The principal writers of the stories produced in France in the 80s (most likely the period 1980-87) were: - Pierre-Yves Gabrion - Patrick Cothias - Louis Cance (now editor of "Hop là", a magazine about comics) - Michel Daubert (now journalist at Télérama, a French weekly) - Jean-Luc Delmont - G. Frydman - "Duc" (pen-name, real name unknown) - Patrice Valli (but it seems that he only did a few stories and that he in fact had "ghosts", that is, unknown writers working for him) - Victor Lagoutte (used to write gags without dialogues) - Michel Motti (still active today) - François Corteggiani (still active today) - Michel Piédoue (then did a few gags in the 90s, but that'll be in the DcD) Patrice Valli supervised the scripts in the beginning ot the 80s, then it was François Corteggiani. Pierre Nicolas supervised the drawings at the same time that Valli did for the scripts. Nicolas did some inking on Lagoutte's pencils. In 1993 Philippe Larbier ("Péhel") and Rachid Nawa began working for Disney-France. François Corteggiani supervised their work at first time, creating a studio with them at Carpentras (a French city near Marseille and Avignon). Most of the Mickey "enigme" pages Péhel and Nawa did, they did them together, one doing parts of pencil and ink, the other doing the other parts. So such a page credited to one of these artists in the DcD (in the period 1993-96) may have (small) parts of it done by the other artist. This does not concern there recent stories: the studio disappears in 1996 (or so) and Nawa and Péhel now are working separately. The Disney babies gags uncredited in the Journal de Mickey were quite all done by Gérard Cousseau together with Jean-Loïc Belhomme. That's what is said (or will be said) in the DcD. However it is known that François Corteggiani did one or two (and probably not more) gag scripts at the very begining, but nobody seems to remember what gags. Starting around 1992, the covers (+ illustrations on third page) of "Super Picsou Géant" were all drawn by Giorgio Cavazzano. Yannick Hodbert, Jean-Luc Cochet (and on some rare cases, Patrice Croci and François Pasquet) get the ideas for these covers, usually after a "cover idea meeting". Before issue 97 of P'tit Loup, the covers only showed a small drawing on the top right corner. All these drawings were done by Claude Prothée, who also did the illustrations inside the issues. Artists of covers not indexed in the DcD in Winnie: Marin in the 80s (and maybe after), then Maria Soenen and possibly François Pasquet and Patrice Croci. This does not concern a few covers about Disney Animated films that are directly taken from Model Sheets provided by Disney Europe (or so). Covers of the Journal de Mickey: most of them are done by Patrice Croci with a few by François Pasquet. But on a lot of cases, attitudes (or more) are taken from Model Sheets ("Runaway Brain", "Line Art", "That's Donald", "Goofy Movie", "Winning Team" + others), and then they are sometimes changed by anonymous artists of ECP (Europe Consumer Products), who want to have "standard" Disney attitudes or don't like some "unofficial" details. --end--
