What can this thing do ?

Many of the BBS programs of today allow for avatar codes to be
sent to the user. Avatar, as a whole, is a better choice then
ansi as it takes fewer bytes to send across the line. However,
there are only two editors at this point can save their graphics
in an avatar format. When you exit the editor, you have no way
of displaying the avatar file without showing it through the bbs
software or booting up the editor again. With A_TYPE/2 you have
a quick way of displaying avatar files from the command line.

I have created quite a few software projects in DOS up to 1992. After
switching to OS/2 at that time, I lost interest in programming in
DOS for fun. Unforunately, at the time I was programming in Turbo
Pascal and there was no easy port from DOS over to OS/2. After almost
2 years of money first and then the code, I decided to start coding
again as a hobby. I pulled a free c++ compiler for OS/2 off the internet,
  and began fooling around.

A_TYPE/2 is more or less a test release for the avatar 0/0+ engine that
I plan to use in future projects regarding BBSing in OS/2.

A_TYPE/2 can display AVATAR files up to AVT/0+. RLE compression IS
  supported!

This driver however, does not support ansi music. The reason being is
because ansi music is in violaton of the orignal ansi specifications.
"esc[M" which is deemed as the ansi music sequence, is "delete line"
in the ansi specifications. OS/2 respects those specifications, as
  do I.

And now, this program can display ascii, ansi, and avatar
  files quickly from OS/2.

  Enjoy...!
